I have always been surrounded by talented people, starting with my mother and ending with my peers at the Academy of Arts, but I always felt I wasn’t good enough and stayed away from drawing because I didn’t want to be looked down upon. During the last semester of my art history studies at the end of last year, I signed up to a “subconscious drawing” class, where we were taught to let go and do whatever we wanted. To let our subconscious thought lead the way. After a few weeks of struggling, I finally let go of all of my restricting thoughts of wanting to draw like everyone else and found my own style. Since then I have drawn almost every day, more than I’ve drawn in my whole life and I don’t want to stop. I’ve finally found what makes me uncontrollably happy and what I really have a passion for!
