After Netflix’s Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega became a worldwide phenomenon, almost everyone knows who Hunter Doohan is. On the show, he played Wednesday’s love interest and the show’s main villain. He was such a good actor that fans couldn’t tell he was evil until it was too late.
But this isn’t the first time he has had a major role on screen. Doohan has been acting for a decade earning various tv roles in his acting career. In 2019, he appeared in the Apple TV series, Truth Be Told, and in 2020 he got an even bigger role in the Showtime tv series, Your Honor. 1. He Got Into Acting During High School
Doohan may not have known he wanted to act when he was a little kid like some people, but it didn’t take him long to discover that acting was his passion. Hunter told The Film Frenzy, “…when I was a sophomore in high school, I tried out for a play and pretty much ended up spending most of the next three years of my life in that drama department.”
2. His Most Popular Role is in Netflix’s Wednesday
Currently, Doohan is most famous for his role in Wednesday on Netflix. He plays a normal guy Tyler Galpin who doesn’t attend the Nevermore Academy but lives in the town nearby. Galpin has a job at the Weathervane Cafe where he ends up meeting Wednesday and his father is the town sheriff. While he is revealed to be the big-bad during the last few episodes, he fooled everyone by pretending to be kind and just out to help.
3. Hunter Doohan Is A Director
Even though he’s still young, Hunter is enjoying getting the opportunity to try different things within the industry. He made his directorial debut in 2017 with the short film Travel. He also directed another short film that year called Far from the Tree. Additionally, Hunter has done some writing. There’s a good chance that he will do some more behind-the-scenes work in the years to come.
4. Hunter Doohan Has Some Gymnastics Skills
Apparently acting isn’t the only thing that Hunter is good at. In an Instagram post in 2014, he shared a video of himself doing a series of flips. It was very clear that he wasn’t new to this, but even some of his followers were surprised at his gymnastic abilities.

Doohan isn’t hiding the fact that he is in love and married. In 2022, he got married to Fielder Jewett. The two lovebirds got engaged on December 31 2020. Doohan shared beautiful photos of their wedding day surrounded by friends and family on 17th June 2022. Fun fact, the wedding was officiated by one of his co-stars, Bryan Cranston.
7. He Planned On Going To Oklahoma City University
No matter how much you try to plan for something, sometimes the universe has something else in mind for you. After high school Doohan planned on attending Oklahoma City University to earn a BFA in theater. Instead, however, he ended up taking an internship in Los Angeles.

Signing with an agent is one of the first major moves an actor can make. Early in 2020, Hunter signed with United Talent Agency (UTA). The agency has a long history of representing some very high-profile clients including Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey, and Dave Chappelle.
