We think differently, and maybe that is the reason a professor will quickly catch a student who cheated in an exam depending on the answers given. In the production of television shows, producers use various sources to inspire the next series, and that is what makes each show different from the rest. We have watched and loved the Property Brothers shows, and now that Forever Home debuted on May 29, 2019, you might wonder how the Property Brothers: Forever Home differ from their other shows so here are a few ways.
Eligibility criteria
Usually, the eligibility criteria for the other Property Brother shows is that you have to be moving in or living within a certain area and looking to buy or renovate a ” fixer-upper.” Other things considered during the application as HGTV details out is that you have to be energetic and fun at least to keep the show exciting, plus you must have the ability to think on your feet to avoid time lapsing without project completion. As for the budget, it should be at least $90,000.
While some of these requirements are similar to what is expected in “Property Brothers: Forever Homes,” for instance, the availability of seven days for filming and being enthusiastic, other things required of you differ. If you now want to be cast in “Forever Home,” you must have a budget of at least $100,000 and a 25% contingency which is refundable if it is not used in the renovation. Additionally, as Bustle discloses, your home must be in the greater Toronto area, in North York, Mississauga and Etobicoke surroundings, to be precise.
It looks like the budget has continued increasing in 2016, as House Beautiful reveals, with the requirement of the renovation budget back then being $65,000. The constant has remained with homeowners choosing four rooms that need to be renovated, the need to be available for at least seven days for shooting as well as you need to have someone helping you out whether it is a friend or spouse.
Families get their dream homes
Do you ever want to move out of your apartment because maybe the sink is too small but then the next house you find is in the perfect location but while the sink is large enough the bathroom could have been better if it had a few more square feet? Sometimes you do not get what you want, and that is when you learn what it means to compromise as you move towards getting your ideal home. Most people live in houses they moved into years ago, but with the memories, they have created in them, they do not want to move out and would instead prefer to change a few things here and there to make it perfect.
As the twins spoke to Global News, the idea of this new series is to make sure that the homeowners stay in their homes forever by turning their current houses into dream homes. According to Jonathan, all the houses they look at are diamonds that need a little creativity and the right team to smooth the rough edges. Drew also adds that most people will move out of the house because a part of the home does not work for them; for instance, the kitchen may need a bit more space so a couple will move out to find that kitchen they need. Therefore since most homeowners do not realize that with some creativity, they can stay in their homes and get what they want, the Scott brothers are extending that option to them.
Focuses on the human story
Every home has a story to tell, as Jonathan Scott reveals during his interview with Parade. When a family is looking for a place to call their home, they have a checklist that they abide by until they find the perfect one, and if not, they make a few compromises. So unlike the other shows that focus on the renovation that needs to be made to turn a profit when the house lands a sale, “Property Brothers: Forever Home” will focus on what makes the families become attached to the house. Such factors include the memories they have created in it and maybe even what more sentimental value they hope to gain when the brothers are done laying their magic hands on the house.
More engagement with fans
Drew Scott told Global News that one thing that will be different about “Forever Home” is the amount of interaction they will have with their fans. Although in the other shows you still get to see the before and after renovation pictures of the houses, this show will go deeper by posting the design inspiration as well as the behind-the-scenes photos on the brothers’ website.
It is a concept from the fans
With the rising use of social media, nearly every show has a social media page to interact with their fans. While fans will pour out their hearts and ideas as to what they would like to see on the show in upcoming seasons or as spin-offs, not every producer will pay attention. Well, Jonathan and Drew Scott know the importance of giving consumers what they want, and in line with this fundamental business tip, they decided to give their fans the Property Brothers: Forever Home franchise.
According to Jonathan Scott, through an interview with Parade each week he and his brother get at least half a million messages on their social media platforms from fans detailing out what they love about their shows as well as what they would prefer to see. Most of the fans felt that Property Brothers was ignoring the homeowners who have already settled in their homes and are neither looking to buy nor sell. So the fans questioned why the brothers could not focus on helping them also turn the aspects of their houses they do not like into dream homes, and just like that “Property Brothers: Forever Home” was born.
