Using a hospice as a short horror film seems almost evil in a way, not to mention that it would give someone second thoughts on working alone. The opening scene alone would be enough to unsettle most people, especially given that the woman is all by herself when the old man suddenly sits up gasping, dying only moments later. That kind of scene isn’t conducive to anyone’s mental well-being. But what comes next is truly horrifying. Word to the wise, if you see anything that looks creepy or in any way not supposed to be in someone’s room, toss it out with their effects and call it good, don’t keep it. If you’ve never seen a horror movie in your life then you might not understand why but if you’ve seen even a few don’t hesitate, throw that sucker out and be done with it.
The squealing of what sounds like wheels, or metal, draws her attention while she’s at her desk, with the strange, swirl-colored ball resting near at hand of course. At this point the educated horror fan is just about to scream at the woman in the clip to GET RID OF IT. But of course she doesn’t and begins to get even more and more creeped out as the sound comes again. When she goes to investigate she suddenly sees the man that just passed on the other side of the double doors leading into the next section of hallway. As she blinks he’s now inside the same hallway as she is, and then once she blinks again he’s RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER.
So she runs, obviously that’s the thing to do, but then he’s right in front of her again, and this time, paralyzed with fear, and obviously still holding onto that ball, she can’t do anything as he reaches out and grabs her by the face, his dead nails starting to scratch their way down her cheeks and chin. The only trouble is that on the hospital monitor it appears that she’s doing this damage to herself with both hands as her mouth opens wide in fright and her eyes tremble as the screen finally goes to black.
Eventually we see the doctor that pronounced the man dead as he steps off of the elevator and sees the nurse lying in a heap just a short way down the hall. Her unseeing eyes are glassed over, there are wounds on her body, and her right shin has broken so badly that the bone is jutting out at a grotesque angle. Instead of looking on in horror however he utters two words that would instantly make most horror fans grin as they rolled their eyes.
“Not again.”
There are so many short films out there these days that watching them all would require a constant, running stream in which every last one of them could be uploaded as they were finished and released. A lot of them are creepy in a way that can’t easily be described, but that’s largely because the bar for creeping people out has been set so high that a person has to go to the limit and beyond to get the desired reaction from their audience.
