This was a fun and light episode of Hart of Dixie that touched on many of the characters’ friendships and romantic relationships. It was nice to see old flames turning into great friends in the cases of Zoe/George and Lavon/Lemon, while still seeing the sparks between Zoe and Wade as she fights for her current relationship with Joel.
Zoe is shocked to hear that the people of Bluebell have been weighing in on Dash’s gossip blog about her relationship with Joel. Only 13% think he’s the right guy for her, and it is later revealed that the rest of the people think she belongs with George. I thought this was a weird episode in the sense that it kept bringing up the romantic history (or lack thereof) between George and Zoe. They haven’t had any real chemistry since season 1, and I think the whole fan base of the show is rooting for Wade and Zoe to end up together anyway, right?
By the end, Joel’s approval rating goes up to 30%. It’s safe to say that Joel as a character has been really growing on me, but I don’t foresee him sticking around all season. Wade commented to Zoe, “as you and I both know, you’re still in love with me”. She’s denying that for now, but I would bet my money that they are back together by the end of this season.
Lemon has a hard time proving that her new beau Peter was real. No one else saw him at the party, and she didn’t even get his last name. With the aid of Lavon and the pharmacist/P.I. Frank, she learned his last name and address. I know Lemon said she’s not going to do anything about it for now, but this is obviously setting up to her inevitable absence for a few episodes after Jamie King gave birth in real life. I loved Peter and Lemon’s scenes last week, so I really hope he comes back for good!
It’s important to note that Lynly was absent from last week’s episode that I loved so much. I’ve made it known before how much I truly dislike her character and this episode didn’t sway me at all. I just wish the writers could see that with an episode as strong as last week’s featuring only the established characters (and, alright, one new character played by Rob Buckley), they don’t need Lynly at all. Write her off, and I’m sure none of the characters (let alone viewers) will miss her.
Most of this Zoe/George/Joel/Wade light hearted drama took place at the church’s Tween Adventure camp. It’s charming little things like this that keep this show together. If it weren’t for the townspeople constantly chiming in on their fellow residents’ romantic lives, it would be a boring town and a boring show. That being said, I wish the writers would conduct online polls to let us vote for new/old characters. I would gladly trade in Lynly to have Tansy back! And where has Rose been since the season premiere?
Next week’s episode looks cute already! Annabeth’s parents come to visit, and it seems the pressure is on for Lavon to propose. I can’t wait to see what happens!

Totally agree. Lynly has got to go! I cannot stand her and it makes no sense for George to be interested. The George of season 1 or even season 2 would have gone no where near Lynly.
I hate that AB was missing from this episode! Love her. Keep her, give her all of Lynly’s screen time. I was also surprised that the episode focused so much on the non-relationship between George and Zoe. I love how Wade was the only one to see through all of it. At the start of the season I predicted that Joel would be gone by Christmas. For now, I sticking with that. I saw promotional photos for episode 7 and it seems as though there will be a lot of Wade/Zoe, Wade/Joel, and Wade/Zoe/Joel interaction. The episode itself is titled “I Run To You” so I’m hopeful the “I” is Zoe and the “You” is Wade.
I hope that Jaime’s maternity leave means Lemon will be off with or searching for Peter (aka Robert Buckley, also one of my favorite OTH alums). She should bring him back to Bluebell where he should stay for good!
The only thing I liked on this week’s Zoe and Joel Show was when Wade commeted to Zoe “you and I both know you’re still in love with me”. Right on. But of course Zoe,being in total denial mode will continue her chemistry-free relationship with the love of my life” Joel…puhleeze.
