Back at NYU, the bursar office tells Vanessa that there is no Scott Adler enrolled at NYU. Uh-oh.
Blair shows up at Chuck’s with breakfast and lingerie, but he declines her because he has a big meeting in a few hours. Needless to say, she is not happy. ‘She drops her mail on the way out and finds an invitation to ‘Le Table Elitare,’and it seems as though all her problems have been solved. Turns out it’s a secret society for elite academic institutions. As she’s explaining it to Serena (and discouraging her from trusting Carter), she gets a text with her initiation mission.
Dan goes to clear things up with Georgina, and she plays it cool, saying not to worry, no strings attached.
Chuck shows up for his meeting, but the business man’s receptionist tells Chuck he needs to reschedule, and tells him to prove he respects the man’s past, nudging him towards a marked photo in the Sotheby’s catalogue.
Nate invites Bree to go out in public together and meet some of his friends. Bree hopes her family will actually call to complain if they don’t like them being seen together.
Chuck and Blair bump into each other at Sotheby’s, and shocker–they have to buy the same photo. Blair, for her secret club, and Chuck, for his business man. Chuck tries to convince Blair that he needs it more, and Blair shuns him and leaves.
Vanessa calls out Scott on not being enrolled in NYU, and he finally comes clean with her. He tells her he’s Rufus and Lily’s son, and that his parents told him Rufus and Lily didn’t want anything to do with him. Vanessa tells him that’s not true, they went looking for him and were told he was dead. She tells him he needs to tell Rufus. Now. Scott assures her he will tell him soon.
Serena catches Carter trying to check out of his hotel, but his card is declined and being chopped up. She overhears the man telling Carter about his room service bill–three bottles of champagne. Carter says he didn’t order any of that, but Serena doesn’t believe it.
Vanessa starts to tell Dan about who Scott really is, but psycho-Georgina drops in, claiming Blair has locked her out of the room, even though we already know Blair is with Chuck. Vanessa takes the opportunity to leave, and Georgina declares that she and Dan need to figure out what’s going on with Scott.
Chuck apologizes to Blair, and suggests neither of them go to the auction. They kiss and roll around on the floor, but they both keep getting texts. Of course, it’s their people, gathering intel on the photo. They both get mad and Blair leaves… with Chuck’s shoes.
Back at the Humphrey loft, Georgina and D find Scott’s real last name through the magic of the Internet and obscure information (a childhood soccer team mascot?). Dan recognizes the name from a fan letter after his New Yorker article, and assumes he’s a stalker. And dangerous. He knows Scott and Vanessa will be at the auction, so he invites Georgina to come along with him and warn Vanessa.
