How Gintama Movie Actors Compare With Their Anime Counterparts

For those of you who follow manga and anime you might be excited to know there’s a Gintama movie that will be released in July in Japan.   For those of you who have no clue what Gintama is, that’s OK because the photo in this article applies to everyone but just in case you’re curious

The Gintama manga is authored by Sorachi Hideaki, and the anime series is based on the manga. The manga was first serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump, interspersed with the occasional episode created by the anime creators themselves. In accordance to the manga’s original premise, the series is a part-period drama, part science-fiction and 100% comedy; with elements of space monsters and aliens mixed with historical samurai and ninjas.

In the spirit of celebrating the movie, a user from Twitter decided to see how the real-life actors stack up to their anime counterparts.   As you’ll be able to see below, the filmmakers did an excellent job of adhering to the aesthetic of the cartoon.  Is it really that hard to do this?  I personally don’t think so but for some reason people always seem to stray from the correct look.  I just don’t think it’s that necessary.
