Game of Thrones Cast Sings Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby”

Ever get the feeling that there are just aspects of pop culture that aren’t meant to be forgotten? When Vanilla Ice came on the scene he was one of the most popular artists around. His sound was so powerful that was able to make people get up and dance or at least move with the music and tap their feet accordingly. And then he just went away somehow. Well, we know why he went away, it was because that song was really all he had in the tank. Once it was out and the popularity had ended for the most part he wasn’t able to do much to regain that same level of fame that he’d enjoyed for such a brief period of time.

Throughout the years Ice has been doing reality shows, bouncing, and popping up in movies from time to time as he’s tried to hold onto the little bit of fame he has left. There’s no doubt he still gets royalties from his song, but the chances of it being big money are kind of slim to none. He tried to go by V-Ice and get his sound back by going more hard rock meets rap, but even that bombed out on the way up, providing little in the way of anything that could have been called fame.

To be quite honest I don’t think I would have thought of this, but it makes perfect sense. All I can do now is wonder just how long it took this individual, or team, however did it, to compile all these scenes from the past seasons and put them together so perfectly for this montage. The effect is impressive and even worth an appreciative laugh as nostalgia takes hold and makes it even more special. Despite the fact that Yo isn’t a word you’d be likely to hear in that context in GoT, the effect is great and really makes the video that much better. Also the fact that they switch back between some of the main characters is wonderful in a way that defies easy explanation.

It’s been said that a lot of people are having fun with GoT in many different ways but this is one of the more impressive feats that has been achieved. The dubbing is spot on and seamless for the most part and the inclusion of the characters had to take some serious thought. A lot of people have said a lot of different things throughout the seasons, but to take them all and make a mashup like this is beyond words.

Out of all the videos that have been made concerning GoT, and there have been many, this is perhaps one of the most entertaining solely based on the fact that it includes a fan favorite from pop culture that was popular in the 90’s. A lot of other videos have taken pop culture references and placed them within the GoT universe, and their level of entertainment is just a potent. But this is just too great.
