Well, this sunday’s Game of Thrones was an excellent episode. I certainly did not expect Sansa and Jon to reunite so soon. It was a much-awaited event. Of course we’ve all wanted to see the Starks unite again ever since they seperated at the end of Season 1. But it wasn’t just a reunion of half-brother and sister. It was a power play. With the combined power of the bastard and heir of Winterfell, Sansa and Jon will practically be unstoppable. Oh and speaking of power, who’s lining up for a taste of Stark power? Littlefinger, of course. Last we saw, he was rallying the Knights of the Vale to mount a rescue mission for Sansa. Well, it’s a long way from the Vale to The Wall but as someone who’s familiar with the map of Westeros, I also know that it’s possible to go to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea and then make for The Wall. It saves a lot of time which is what Littlefinger probably did. As for the Knights, the wall’s gonna have to wait.
It’s the first time the knights of the vale have done anything. Sansa should know that she’s gonna need them. And to control the knights, she’ll need the allegiance of the Lord Protector of the Vale. Even though, the Lord Protector sold her to Ramsay Snow. Yep, I see another happy alliance in the making here. With the knights of the vale, the Glovers, the Manderlys and other powerful houses of the North behind them, not to mention the Wildlings and the men of the Night’s Watch, I can see Ramsay being crushed here. If you seriously think that Sansa won’t have the North’s allegiance, then you’ve never heard the phrase “The North Remembers”. Walder Frey, you’re next you stinking asshole.
In The House of Black and White, there’s a dead person and talk of a soon-to-be dead person. Yep, Arya’s gonna assassinate her first man. But, wait! Do the people she’s killed in the past count? Especially Ser Meryn Trant? Sounds like she’s gonna breeze through this assassination.
Meanwhile, it’s Kingsmoot time in the Iron Islands. Meaning everyone’s gonna be duking it out for a chair made of salt and stone. Yep, chairs in Westeros are terrible. Book readers should know what happens here. Yara’s ready to make her claim but there’s about a dozen more people that should be opposing her soon enough. Speaking of, the ship we see sailing towards the location of the Kingsmoot is Euron’s for sure. Euron who? Euron the guy who killed Balon. Now don’t ask me who Balon is.
In Essos, not much is happening. No Daenerys, no Jorah or Daario. Just Neo-Melisandre apparently. Of course we know that Daenerys is responsible for the extraordinary powers of the Red Priests. It makes sense that one of them would want to enter her service. Obviously Varys and Tyrion are mistrustful. They should know though, that fire cannot kill a dragon, as we saw last episode. So, technically the red priestess should be an asset.
Now for the big one. Another Bran vision. But this time, no tower of joy. Instead we see a possible future should Westeros fall. But wait, Bran won’t wake up. He should wake up. The Night’s King is being pretty creepy here. Bran???
The synopsis for the episode titled “The Door” reads:
Tyrion seeks a strange ally. Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) learns a great deal. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) goes on a mission. Arya (Maisie Williams) is given a chance to prove herself.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays on HBO at 9:00PM.
