You probably think you know as much as there is to know about Gal Gadot at this point, especially since there are entire sites dedicated to the superstar and those that will gladly line up to tell you every last bit of history you’d want to know about the woman. Well this is kind of like that, but instead of going so in-depth that it leaves nothing to the imagination it’s important to say that aside from being a standout hit and a pleasant surprise when it comes to her role as one of the most popular superheroes around, Gal Gadot is also a rather carefree spirit that enjoys what she does and doesn’t tend to take things too seriously if she doesn’t need to. Her attitude is quite often one that is friendly and very open to many people as she likes to get along with others and share experiences that are both positive and enriching for both parties involved.
Here are a few other things you might not have known about her.
10. She went through pretty intensive training for her role in Wonder Woman.
As a matter of fact pretty much every woman in the movie that was featured as an Amazonian warrior had to undergo a lot of training in order to make the film look as authentic as the director wanted, and they put in the work and did everything that was asked of them. It was an impressive site to be honest.
9. In some of her movies she’s performed her own stunts.
You don’t hear of a lot of actors outside of Jackie Chan managing to pull this off but Gal has managed to do some her stunts in her movies and has received the training she needed in order to make them work and keep herself in one piece. Stunt work after all is one of the more dangerous aspects of a film.
8. From the age of 18 to 20 she served as a sports trainer in the Israeli Army.
She didn’t hesitate when it was time to serve her country in any capacity and she did get in and do her time before getting out to pursue a career. One might almost think this would be a good example for other countries to follow.
7. Her role as Wonder Woman is the first on film.
It’s amazing that a lot of people don’t realize this but Wonder Woman has only ever been a TV show and represented as a cartoon in the past. Gal’s representation of the woman was the first ever time she made it to the big screen. Many think that it was past due.
6. She was offered a role in Man of Steel, but she had to turn it down.
Unfortunately, well, not unfortunately but due to Gal being pregnant she couldn’t take the role when it was offered and had to pass it along to someone else. It did work out for the best however since she entered the DCEU eventually.
5. The first audition she took on was for a Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
It might have been interesting to see her as a Bond girl since she does have the form and the look of a woman that could take 007 on or possibly be another of his many beautiful and yet dangerous consorts or enemies.
4. She had never tried a Reese’s peanut butter cup until she had one on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
As Americans a lot of us have tried peanut butter cups by the time we have our first Halloween but watching Gal chew on one of the chocolate goodies is kind of funny since it obviously is pretty sweet but she at least admits to loving it. Chances are she won’t eat a lot of them but if she approves then that’s awesome.
3. Gal thought that the role of Catwoman was up for grabs in the movie Batman vs. Superman, she didn’t realize it was Wonder Woman that was being added.
Quite honestly Zack Snyder told her that he needed her to do a screen test but it doesn’t appear that he told her what part she was doing it for. For all she knew she was going to be auditioning for the part of Selina Kyle/Catwoman. But Wonder Woman seems like a much better fit.
2. She’s definitely a fan of strong, empowered women.
Her opinion is that there simply aren’t enough of them in movies. The counter to this is that they’re there, they simply haven’t been front and center at all times like they need to be. That’s changing as the years roll on thankfully.
1. Despite any criticisms about Wonder Woman she had a lot of fun shooting it.
Gal is definitely having a great time playing the Amazonian warrior and doesn’t take a lot of the criticisms to heart since she’s embraced the role and many upon many people have done the same after watching the movie.
She was the right choice, hands down, and if anyone’s going to help the DCEU contend with the MCU it’s her.
