I am Vernessa Himmler, an illustrator, and sand-artist based in Hamburg, Germany. Since early 2013 I have worked as a freelance illustrator, and one of my recent illustration projects is a series of funny comics that show people the hilarious and crazy life of being a silly cat owner.
I’ve been drawing since my childhood and received a masters degree in illustration from HAW Hamburg – Design Department. Over the years I have developed my own visual language, which consists of realistic fine drawings and modern coloration. I started drawing my kitty cat comics only two years ago, inspired by my two cute cats Mikosch and Koschka, who I adopted from a local animal shelter a few years back.
I began creating these funny drawings on Instagram to share my life as a crazy cat lady and the awkward moments of my two funny cats, and while many of my comics depict the headaches cats can bring, they are still such wonderful pets. My favorite thing about cats is the moment when they want your attention (for a cuddle or something else), it makes you extremely happy when they chose to come to you on their own!
