Over the last few weeks, the TV networks have been letting fans know which of their favorite shows will be back next season. FOX disappointed many fans when it decided that freshman drama Pitch would strike out and not receive a second season pickup. Other series that will not be back include Scream Queens, Son of Zorn, and Making History. FOX also made a few surprise renewal announcements. New Girl will return for a shortened and final seventh season (though it is not airing in the fall) and the Exorcist will continue to scare on Friday nights.
Lethal Weapon will be finding a new home as FOX is moving the drama to Tuesday nights. It will anchor the 8 PM hour and the comedy block of The Mick and Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air after at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM respectively. Wednesday nights will see Empire airing during the 8 PM hour followed by Star at 9 PM.
Fans of Gotham received good news a few days ago when FOX decided to bring the series back for a fourth season. The network is shifting the series starring Ben McKenzie to the 8 PM timeslot on Thursday. Gotham will need to compete with both The Big Bang Theory and Grey’s Anatomy, which tends to be hard for other FOX series that have aired during this time. FOX has decided to air the new series The Orville at 9 PM. The series will star and be produced by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
