Five TV Families That Could be the Next Kardashians

Welcome to Plathville

It really does depend on who you talk to when it comes down to reality TV families and how truly popular they are since some folks like to follow their every movie while some think that they’re the biggest blight on the face of the entertainment industry that’s ever been seen. The Kardashians are without a doubt the most popular among them according to a lot of folks, but that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it since quite honestly being a reality TV family isn’t always that great of a thing considering what some people tend to think about them. When talking about who could be the next Kardashians there’s a lot that goes into this largely because there’s no way to become a reality star without at least some bit of controversy, good or bad. And there’s certainly no way to become as popular as the Kardashians without a large number of people willing to bash them for every possible thing they can.

Here are five families that might have what it takes to be the next Kardashian-level TV family.

5. Sister Wives

Religion notwithstanding, this show seems like a time bomb waiting to happen since having so many wives and so many children and always seeming to be on the lookout for another wife is something that might make many people edgy. While some of the women in this show seem to be okay with it, enough so that they don’t want to tear each other’s hair out, there is a general feeling of unease since there’s only one husband and, in my opinion, way too many women and, as a result, a whole lot of kids that need a lot of attention and likely don’t get it all the time. This is when the man simply gets to have everything he wants while the women kind of have to get what they can and be happy with it.

4. The Duggars

It’s entirely easy to bash each one of these families for something but overall it’s better to move away from that side of things even if every issue seems to offer itself up as a lame duck to knock out of the sky with the greatest of ease. Having this many kids seems more than irresponsible, even if the Duggars can afford it. This is the kind of family where the kids basically raise each other since there’s no way in the world that two parents can have as much time as they need to spend with all of them in an equal manner. One has to imagine that there might be more going on behind the camera that we never got to see, for good or ill.

3. The Martones

They’re sassy.  They have a new show called “Unpolished.” Nail artist Lexi Martone rose to fame through her innovative 3D nail art, which attracts a growing number of customers, tourists, and celebrities to the salon she co-owns with her sister Bri who is a hair and makeup artist sister. The reality series, which takes place in their Long Island salon, features the sisters and their larger-than-life Italian family who frequently stop by to stir up trouble. Bri and Lexi show off their skills to a wide range of clientele while trying to balance their relationships and family drama.

2. The Plaths

Their new show is taking off quite quickly and they certainly have enough members.  They’re all blond.  They like to sing.  They like to fight.  There’s plenty of drama.  They may not come from the same Beverly Hills kind of cloth as the Kardashians but it’s important to keep your eyes on this bunch.

1. The Chrisleys

There is just something about this family that seems to grind on the nerves of a lot of people and touch the hearts, at least that’s what people say, of others. Behind the scenes it doesn’t seem as though things are as bad or as good as they seem on the show, but that would mean that the family is vamping it up for the audience and as a reality show that’s pretty standard but it doesn’t work quite as well since the whole idea of ‘reality’ means you don’t act, you just need to be yourself. Sophie Dodd of People can give you more on this subject.

Sigh, reality TV is anything but real, as a lot of us know, but sometimes it’s able to produce material that’s more animated than Looney Tunes.
