SEAL Team is new drama series from CBS. It follows the lives of the military elite as they take on risky undercover missions overseas as well as their family lives. The show primarily focuses on the professional and personal lives of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and tackle dangerous operations around the globe. David Boreanaz is the star of the show as he tries to tell the story of one of the most coveted military unit. Even though the show puts in an effort to be as authentic as possible, there are some things it gets wrong about Navy Seals like:
Navy Seals Follow Instructions Blindly
While it’s true that members of the SEAL Team are always taking instructions from their leaders, they do not ever take orders and following them like robots. Experts reveal that even though seals are elite warriors, and go through intensive training, they still have emotions just like other human beings. Because on missions they are also putting their lives as well as that of their friends online, they do not always follow orders quietly particularly the ones that they do not agree with.
Seals do not Naturally know When to Identify the Enemy
While watching the show, viewers may note that superhero versions of the seals are always quick to figure out ways to identify the enemy and the appropriate time to take them out.
Professionals who work with the seals in battlefield say that it usually a chaotic experience. They affirm that it takes a lot of discipline for the team members even to know the origin of the attacks probably from smart terrorists and other criminals and how to respond. To be successful, seal commanders always create a culture where they handle each of the seals individually to take ownership of their mission so that they can first make decisions when they go haywire.
Seals have Free Will
Working with SEALs is similar to working with a human army. They come with attitudes, are very intelligent and they also practice free will. They usually question their commanders when they feel like their plans are not really in line with what they want to do. It is safe to say that they wish their commanders lead them rather than always command them at all times. Their leaders must explain to them why they want to carry out operations in a certain way.
Navy SEAL Training is Tougher than it Appears
Joining the SEAL Team is not an easy task. There are numerous requirements that one must possess in order to become part of the team. It is not child’s play because they have to train to endure even the most challenging conditions all over the world to fight the enemy. It is not just anyone who can join the team because aspirants always go through vetting to ensure that they are working for the right team and that they all have similar goals that are working to achieve.
Navy SEALTraining is not About Physical Fitness
Anyone who had gone through SEAL training knows that it is not just for getting a person into shape. The professionals must strive to achieve optimum fitness. Training program happens in various phases, and only the best make it on the SEAL Team. Training strives to push trainees beyond their limits to ensure that they are worthy of fighting in the best fighting force in the globe. The team members should always be prepared, make mature decisions, stay focused and understand what they are volunteering for.
