Five Things We Learned from the Wynonna Earp Season Finale

Season 2 of Wynonna Earp came to a close on August 25 of 2017. Since it was a season finale, it should come as no surprise to learn that it provided a fair amount of information about the characters as well as the future course of the supernatural western, which should enable interested individuals to speculate to their heart’s desire until Season 3 comes out.

Here are five of the things that we learned from the Season 2 finale:

The Baby Is Doc’s

For a time, it was uncertain whether Wynonna’s child was Doc’s or Jonas’s. Now, there can be no doubt about the fact that she is Wynonna and Doc’s child, seeing as how she was able to pass over the line with no problems whatsoever. Regardless, the child has been named Alice Michelle for the purpose of honoring both of her grandmothers before being passed onto Perry and then Aunt Gus. This is a tough choice, but considering the circumstances, it seems probable that Alice Michelle will be able to have a better life with Aunt Gus than her biological parents.

Waverly Is Not a Revenant

There is still not enough information to speculate much about what Waverly is supposed to be. She made it clear that she was not a Revenant by passing over the line, but Bobo’s cryptic comment means that there must be something supernatural to her. As a result, it seems probable that Waverly’s heritage will be one of the things that will come up in Season 3.

Wynonna Knew Where Michelle Was

Michelle walked out on her family when her daughters were still children, which seems to be connected to how her husband would abuse her. As a result, most people assumed that neither of the Earp sisters knew where she was, but as it turned out, Wynonna knew exactly where she could be found, which could have complications for her relationship with Waverly. It remains to be seen who will play Michelle, but the show-runner Emily Andras has mentioned that her dream casting would be either Sigourney Weaver because Sigourney Weaver is her dream casting for everything or Lucy Lawless because Xena.

Season 3 Will Focus on Bulshar

So far, Wynonna Earp has dealt with Bulshar’s spouse and Bulshar’s lovers. As a result, Season 3 will be focusing on Bulshar himself, which is appropriate considering his role in the shaping of the current state of the setting as well as the characters who populate it. It is interesting to note that it seems like Nicole will have an important role in said confrontation, seeing as how she seems to possesses an enormous amount of information about the Cult of Bulshar. Something that should be considered serious cause for concern, though not panic at this point in time.

The Love Triangle Remains Complicated

There is no resolution to the love triangle between Wynonna Earp and her closest male companions even though Wynonna and Doc shared a kiss, so expect it to continue coming up in Season 3. Fortunately, each of the three participants possess a fair amount of fondness as well as respect for the other two, meaning that said love triangle should prove much more interesting than irritating as so many of its counterparts in other TV shows have turned out to be.
