You have probably heard of Sailor Brinkley Cook, the 19 year old bombshell daughter of famous model, author and actress Christie Brinkley. With that being said, there are probably a lot of things about this dynamic young woman that you don’t know, largely because she is still so young. 1. She practically rules Instagram
Some people sort of dabble in social media and others have a tremendous presence on practically every social media platform out there. Then, there are people like Sailor that really focus on one or two platforms and learn to master them. This is the case with her presence on Instagram. At last count, she had more than 350,000 people that follow her on a regular basis. Needless to say, this is a lot more than most people could ever hope to have on their own Instagram accounts. You might think that she only posts pictures of herself in her modeling career since she has decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps, but she also posts a great deal about day-to-day life.
2. She cut her teeth using Twitter
While she isn’t quite as active on Twitter as she used to be, this is where she essentially got her start with social media. At the ripe old age of 12, she started using Twitter on a regular basis and soon, she was learning how to dominate it and other social media platforms, like Instagram. While it might not be anything new to have a 12 year old that knows their way around social media, she practically managed to write the textbook on social media use.
3. She’s a successful model in her own right
You probably already know that she is a model, but you might be thinking that she only managed to get into the business because that’s what her mother does. If that is what you’re thinking, you are sorely mistaken. She has worked hard to achieve both personal and professional success and she really doesn’t like to be seen in her mother’s shadow or anyone else’s, for that matter. As such, her success is all her own.
4. She’s not afraid of making her own decisions
At 19, it’s usually hard for most people to make decisions on their own without the advice of one or both parents, especially when those are major decisions. However, Sailor is a very independent young woman and actually prefers making decisions on her own as opposed to getting input from other individuals. She prefers it this way because in her opinion, the best way to learn is to just get out there, experience things, and learn from mistakes along the way.
5. She’s comfortable in her own skin
You might have heard that she recently posed for a nude photo shoot for a sports magazine. This is something that a lot of adults would probably have trouble doing, not to mention someone that is 19 years old. However, she chose to do it as a work of art, not as an exploitation of women or simply to show off her body. In a way, this proves that she is already capable of making some very mature decisions, despite her young age.
