Peter Krause is an American actor that is best known for his role as Nate Fisher in “Six Feet Under.” You may also recognize him from “Sports Night” as Casey McCall or as Nick George on “Dirty Sexy Money. ” He’s also appeared in “The Catch” on ABC. He’s a veteran actor who has had a good run that has kept him in work. Fans of the television sitcom “Cybill” will remember him as Kevin, the son in law of the main character. Although he may not have risen to the status of mega-star, he has a decent following of fans who would like to know more about him. Here are five things that we bet you didn’t know about him.
1. Peter is a multiple awards nominee
Winning an award is a big event. Although Peter has yet to actually win, he has been nominated for several awards which include three Emmy’s for a total of seven. His portrayal of Nate Fisher, the funeral director was perhaps the biggest role of his career. He gained a lot of attention for his spectacular performance in the role and it deserves to be showcased among his major career accomplishments.
2. Krause has had a few rough years
While his career has been going remarkably well, there are other parts of the actor’s life that have not. His father passed away in early 2012 which was a difficult time in the family’s life. As if this wasn’t hard enough to bear, his mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer. While death is a part of life, and we lose people more and more as we ourselves age, it is difficult to to through the experience.
3. He is dating his television sister
Krause and his co-star from “Parenthood” have been in a relationship that started in 2010. While some fans may be put off by this, it’s important to remember that they were only acting. There is no family relationship between the two whatsoever. We often come to know actors by the characters that they play. While some elements of their personalities may exist within the characters, they are usually quite different in their personal lives. The two don’t have a problem with the fact that they were cast as brother and sister.
4. Peter Krause is shy by nature
This may be hard to believe by watching him act, but Krause takes his time when getting to know people. In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, his live-in girlfriend shared this fact with the audience. It took quite a while after they met for them to come together as a couple. The fact that she is also shy compounded the situation. Peter comes across as being confident, and he is, but in his personal life, he willingly holds back a bit until he’s fully comfortable with people and situations.
5. Marriage may not be in his future
The actor is in his 50s, and is in a secure relationship with Lauren. Although the couple lives together in their Los Angeles home, there has not been talk of a legal marriage. According to Lauren, they are quite happy together and the way their relationship is currently, it’s like they are already married. She indicated that their relationship is good just the way it is now so there isn’t really a need to change anything.
