You’ve likely seen him a few times in films such as SWAT, Unfaithful, Taking Lives, and several others. Martinez is one of those actors that, whether he’s a good guy or a bad guy, is fun to watch because he is so good at what he does. He is the type of actor that can make you hate him because he gets into his role so much or make you actually feel for him due to the level of emotion he can put into a role. Despite the number of actors in Hollywood at this time that type of acting is still fairly rare to see since it is something that seems so real despite the fact that it comes from the art of lying onscreen that so many actors have become skilled at. Martinez though is highly underrated for his skill and is a pleasure to watch when he makes an appearance.

5. He’s been lauded as the “French Brad Pitt”.
There’s no denying he’s a very handsome man. His accent and his looks have earned him a great deal of attention in the past even though he’s been given a lot of roles that you might think are anything but complimentary. For instance, as a drug kingpin in SWAT he was considered to be very handsome and extremely popular, but thanks to the nature of the character he was handled with caution. He’s the type that is lauded for being attractive but also for being versatile.
4. He quit school early to go to work.
Martinez left school early on to perform several odd jobs it’s said. But when he was 23 his friends apparently urged him to go into acting, which he did. It’s kind of easy to assume at this point that he made the right choice and should be able to thank his friends for the advice.
3. At one point in his life he was a boxer like his father.
Martinez fought as a welterweight in Europe for a while but obviously never made a huge career out of it. His father was a boxer as well but eventually retired and became a mechanic. We all know which direction Martinez’s career went in, which is probably for the best. Not a lot of boxers are known to take up acting after their faces have been mashed in a few times.
2. He’s a big jazz lover.
It seems like a lot of actors simply love jazz. It’s an easy flow to get into since the sound is pleasing and not as challenging as some would like to think. This type of music allows the listener to just kick back and enjoy themselves as the music kind of washes over them.
1. He’s not comfortable with nude scenes.
Believe or not someone this good-looking is a little uncomfortable when it comes to getting naked on camera. That shows that because someone is considered to be attractive doesn’t mean that they’re going to be comfortable at all times flaunting what they have.
Like him or not, Olivier Martinez is a skilled actor, and it’d be nice to see his career reach new heights.
