If you want to get general about it, really no pun intended if you’re a soap star fan, she is a big name in the world of soap operas. Genie is an American actress that has made a career out of starring in hit soap operas and sitcoms for many years. She’s stepped away now and again to tend to her life but that is one thing that is so wonderful about her, she makes time for the important things. As of now she lives in London with her husband but maintains a business and many business relations in the states. She’s still fairly busy at this point in her career but has slowed way down on acting.
Here’s a few things you may or may not have known about her.
5. She’s returning to General Hospital after a 2-year absence.
Fans of the show are no doubt going to be glad to have her back since to many people she was a pivotal character and was very much liked by quite a few people. Chances are she might be back in a limited role but there’s no doubt that fans and her director and cast members might want to keep her around for as long her character can contribute to the story.
4. She also played in Days of Our Lives.
It’s not unknown for soap opera stars to jump around but unless you’re a fan of soap operas you wouldn’t really notice. This is also a good mark on her career though since being wanted for other shows usually means you’ve done something right if people want to steal you away or just grace their show with your presence. I wonder if this type of thing violates a contract or if new contracts need to be written up each time.
3. Her first onscreen kiss was her first real kiss.
It’s hard to decide if this would be a good thing or something that borders on disappointing. On the one hand you could get a little practice in for when you actually find someone that you want to kiss. On the other hand you’ve just spent your first kiss with someone you’re not feeling a big connection with. Some girls would call that a tragedy while a lot of guys would just shrug and say ‘meh’.
2. She runs a cottage and accessories store in Maine.
So she’s found a way to stay busy at least while not acting, which is nice. It makes me wonder how many of her clients ever realize that the company they’re buying their accessories from is owned by a celebrity. Not that it makes that much difference, but it would be interesting to see people’s reactions.
1. She has chronic back problems.
It kind of sounds like she might have gotten this under control, but as a person ages it doesn’t matter what you do to soothe your bodily aches. Eventually time is going to win out and your body is going to break down. Hopefully she’ll be able to last a while longer.
