Caterina Scorsone might strike a lot of people as a determined person but she is also quite easy to like and very ambitious when it comes to pushing herself to move forward in her career. To this date she has been in the business for a good long while and it would appear that she’s not thinking of going anywhere anytime soon, which is nice since she’s been a joy to see on the screen when she does make an appearance. People might not know who she is right off the bat but she does have enough credits under her belt so to speak to be considered as one of the more solid and stable actresses in the business at this time. She also doesn’t seem to have any huge controversies that have followed her around for years and in this day and age that’s something that a person can be truly proud of. In other words, she’s someone that can be trusted and relied upon to get the job done.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She’s been acting since the age of 8.
Her time in front of the camera has been long indeed since she’s managed to find a place in many TV shows, TV films, and movies throughout her career. A lot of other actors either haven’t lasted as long or have had to retire at a certain age to finally enjoy themselves, but Caterina has managed to push forward and do what she does best.
9. She was in Edge of Darkness.
This movie is about a cover-up, or an attempted one, in which a police detective’s daughter is shot and he goes on a quest for vengeance as well as justice. The whole thing centers around an attempt to make dirty bombs that gets out once his daughter is found to have escaped with the secrets that the government is trying to hide.
8. She’s a qualified canoe instructor.
It might be interesting to find out just what it would it would take to qualify for such a thing since canoeing is considered to be a lot of fun and a great way to get out and stay healthy. Perhaps there’s a course that can be taken in order to gain certification.
7. She was in The November Man.
This is a movie that is very much old vs. young, student vs. master and so on and so forth. The whole premise of the movie is that the older assassin is attempting to keep someone alive so that they can bring down a corrupt individual and the young assassin is trying to kill her on the words of his government that she’ll cause a huge problem for their country.
6. Her youngest daughter has Down Syndrome.
This is a bit of a struggle for some parents since the whole idea of it is that some kids with Down Syndrome don’t have the full intellectual functions that other kids do. But it’s also a learning experience since if you’ll notice, as I have from personal experience, such folks that have this syndrome are also some of the most compassionate people in the world. That’s why caring for them might be hard, but it can also teach people a lot about themselves.
5. Her favorite movie of all time is True Romance.
Despite the name of the movie this is all about murder, running from the mob, and just trying to stay alive. You can imagine that stealing drugs and trying to cheat the mob out of their due is not a wise idea. But with all that it is still the favored movie of a lot of people, most likely because it’s that crazy.
4. She had no desire to be a surgeon but she wanted to be on Grey’s Anatomy, which she was.
Just because an actor takes on a role in a show doesn’t mean that they really want to be a part of that profession. Fans tend to think that actors pick up the kind of knowledge they need in order to perfect the role. The only problem with that thinking is that the movies and shows they take part in don’t make them an expert in that field. For instance, you wouldn’t want to have an actor that ACTED like a doctor doing surgery on you at any point.
3. She’s 37 years old.
She looks remarkably good for her age, enough so that she obviously takes care of herself and stays in shape while not on screen. It could be a part of the contract or it could just be her need to stay fit, but she is in great shape as she is still not an old woman but not a young lady.
2. Her career started in 1991.
She has been around a while and it’s fair to say that, like a lot of actors, she’s probably seen and heard a few things in the business as it’s changed over the years.
1. She majored in Literary Studies.
It’s always interesting to see what actors major in when they were in college, if only to see if their interests lie strictly with acting or if they decide to go off and explore other fields.
She likes what she does, you can tell in her tone of voice.
