1. She was the 9Mag manager
Charmaine’s role in the shop is manager. She is responsible for keeping the guys supplied in all of the supplies that they need to work their magic creating magnificent tattoo art. She keeps materials on hand and delivers whatever is required. This includes sweeping the floors and keeping the area clean, but she is much more than a janitor.
2. She didn’t expect the guys to go with the “reality show” offer
When Ryan first told Charmaine about the VH1 offer to turn the business into a reality show, they all laughed. This didn’t really seem possible and it’s something that up until this time, they wouldn’t even consider. After they all had a good laugh, things began to move forward quickly. Without really saying much more about it, Ryan went ahead with the deal and VH1 was calling Johnise to let her know that they were anxious to begin filming.
3. She is working on her own brand
Johnise was asked what she does with her time when she’s not managing the studio. It appears that she has a quite active life outside of the series. Much of her time is spent at radio station WGCI. She shared has she has “iHeart Radio.” When she isn’t there, she is working on the YouTube blogs that she has been putting together. Johnise is a smart woman who isn’t putting all of her eggs into one basket. She’s being diligent in developing her career and is striking out on her own with a few entrepreneurial ventures.
4. She has a ten year plan
Charmaine is just 28 years old and she’s got her ten year plan in order. Her goal by then is to have a family with children. In addition to this, she wants to grow her endeavors in radio and television. She definitely plans to stay connected with the entertainment industry.
5. Charmaine wants to encourage girls to be a free spirit
Johnise considers herself to be free spirited. She understands the constraints that society places on girls and women and she isn’t trying to keep herself out of a “box” so to speak. She simply believes that we should all create our own boxes and live out of them. Society should not dictate what your behaviors and beliefs will be. She made it clear that she doesn’t consider herself to be “a lady.” She enjoys being herself and she encourages others to do the same.
