Dashing Canadian actor Stephen Amell is best known for his role as Oliver Queen in “Green Arrow” in the Arrowverse. The show was based on the famous comic book character. He also made a name for himself in the role of Casey Jones in the hit “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” (2016). He has an unforgettable face which is familiar to most younger people, but most have forgotten about the other roles that he played earlier in his career.
Here are five roles that you totally forgot Stephen Amell played.
Billy in “Rent-A-Goalie”
Few people seem to remember that Amell played the part of Billy in the Canadian sitcom with a sports bend, “Rent-A-Goalie.” The story centers around Cake’s business that keeps house hockey games in a ready supply of goalies. The sports’ comedy is filled with screwball antics, sexual tensions and made famous the line “Grab life by the pucks.”
Adam from “Dante’s Cove”
Amell also appeared in this tale of a young couple who are forced to deal with dark forces which have them in their sights. The romantic thriller is filled with drama as well as a healthy dose of mystery and horror. It features threads of male nudity, witchcraft and lesbian romance as themes.
Teddy Gordon in “Closing the Ring”
Amell played the role of Teddy Gordon, a gunner who crashed in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1944. The young man dies, but not before he is involved in a romance that would later serve as the basis of this gripping story of love, loss and the hunt for the historical ring that was to be sent to his girlfriend back in the USA if he was killed.
Joran Van der Sloot in “Justice for Natalee Holloway”
The world was shocked and horrified by the true story that followed the mysterious disappearance of Natalee, a teenage student from Alabama while visiting Aruba. It was her senior class trip. This film follows the events closely in a dramatic crime film that stars Amell as Joran. The movie is a follow up to the original 2009 film about the incident. His acting abilities are showcased as he stumbles over the words, avoiding the topic of what really happened to Natalee Holloway in a face to face conversation with the girl’s mother.
Scott Becker in “Private Practice”
Amell played the handsome Scott Becker in seven episodes of “Private Practice.” Things got pretty hot and steamy between himself and Violet Turner. The hunky actor made a big impact during his season long appearance as a regular, but it didn’t last long enough for some fans. His role wasn’t major, but it did offer him a few different kinds of exposure that sent femme fans wild. The comedy romance television series ran from 2007 through 2013 before the show ended.
