Five Reasons You Should Be Watching Ultimate Pools

Summer is finally here and if you don’t have a pool and are considering putting one in your back yard, you need to watch HGTV’s “Ultimate Pools” for inspiration. The pools featured on the show are amazing. The designers create pools that blend into your backyard or are inspired by the tropics. Even if you decide not to build one of the million dollar pools from the show, you can still get amazing ideas to incorporate into your own backyard.

Here are 5 reasons you should be watching “Ultimate Pools”.

The Tropics

If you’ve traveled to the beautiful islands that dot our world’s oceans, you know the beauty of the tropics. You can bring that beauty into your backyard, no matter what part of the world you live in. Like the “Bali” pool or “Shangri-La” pools featured on “Ultimate Pools” tropical features can be built into any pool. You may not have the room for a “lazy river” pool like those featured on “Ultimate Pools” but a lagoon style pool that fits into your backyard is certainly doable. Other features that will make your backyard feel like it is set on a tropical island just feet from the beach and ocean are using stone, waterfalls, fire bowls or even a relaxation hut. Caves or private grottos are an extra tropical touch. If you have the room, a waterfall, a slide or even a swing rope are fun features to add to a “tropical” style pool.

Serenity

Pools are meant for lounging on lazy days. “Ultimate Pools” has featured several pools that create a serene environment that blends into a home’s setting. The “Yoga” pool featured on “Ultimate Pool’s” first season was amazing. The Malibu cliff side home needed a pool that would incorporate the canyon and ocean views. An infinity flows off the side of the pool blending in with the cliff side. Curves and stones add to the peaceful feel of the pool which even features a yoga deck. The owners wanted to incorporate the 4 elements of earth, air, fire and water, and this pool does just that. Just like the tropical island style pools built on “Ultimate Pools”, a jungle theme can make your backyard feel like your on an exotic vacation all of the time. One pool featured on HGTV’s show shows a pool built around trees to create a canopy like the jungle. Bringing the surrounding nature to your pool will create a great spot to relax, socialize and have fun. Add in rocks throughout your pool surroundings, a waterfall or a “rain curtain” waterfall and a rock deck to jump in the pool from will add to the “jungle” feel of the pool and surrounding area.
