Five Pivotal Moments From Black Mirror Season 4

Five Pivotal Moments From Black Mirror Season 4

Black Mirror is a television show that originates from Britain. It first aired in 2011 and has been going strong ever since. It’s basically like a newer version of the old Twilight Zone. As such, each episode tells its own story and none of the episodes are related. This format is something that fans love because it gives them the ability to catch episodes as they can without feeling like they have missed something. The twist here is that all of the stories revolve around some type of technology. The series is currently available on Netflix. Below are some of the best moments from season five of the show.

1. Black Mirror Season 4, Episode 2

In this episode, Marie worries about the safety of her daughter. This is compounded by her daughter’s behavior, which is not really all that different from the behavior of most kids her age. That being said, she’s definitely at the age where she is pushing her boundaries, so to speak. Finally, Marie is at the end of her rope and she decides to use a new high-tech device that will keep track of her daughter, letting Maria know where she is at all times. This might seem like the perfect thing to do for a parent that’s worried about their child’s safety but since the show deals with all kinds of twists and turns related to the perils of technology, you can probably figure out that things don’t exactly go as planned. It wouldn’t be fair to tell you any more. Doing so would ruin the fun of watching the episode itself.

2. Black Mirror Season 4, Episode 4

Anybody that’s ever dated will understand this episode, at least to a certain extent. You might think of this as online dating on drugs. As a matter of fact, there is a new computer system that pairs people up, but it only lets them date for a certain amount of time. When the system says that the relationship ends, it has to end. Two of the people that have been involved in the program and paired into a relationship, Amy and Frank, start to think that this isn’t such a good idea. Now they have to work to find a solution before the computer decides that their relationship is no longer viable.

3. Black Mirror Season 4, Episode 1

This is an interesting episode that gives a definite nod to Star Trek and it also deals with the possibility to lose oneself in an alternate reality that simply isn’t real. It’s rather poignant, even in today’s world where people can experience virtual reality or lose themselves in video games that are so realistic it almost makes you feel like you’re really there. This episode definitely explores all of the best and worst scenarios when you can put yourself in any type of environment you choose.

4. Black Mirror Season 4, Episode 3

This episode deals with people having the ability to steal the memories of others. In the show, it happens as the result of an accident. This results in a person taking the memories of all those involved, supposedly in order to investigate exactly what happened. It sure does produce a lot of scary mental images, to say the least. Imagine what it would be like if someone could merely take everything that was in your mind, including your memories and your thoughts, and broadcast that information to the whole world. This is truly one of the most perverse forms of violating one’s privacy that could ever exist.

5. Black Mirror Season 4 Clips

This particular video isn’t from a single episode but it does offer some of the most poignant and intense moments of the entire season. If you’ve watched the show in the past, you know that things can get intense pretty quickly and merely watching the clips from season four make anyone that hasn’t already seen the show anxious to watch it, in the best possible way. This is especially true if you love the old Twilight Zone, or if you have a slightly twisted sense of humor.
