The Lagina Brothers have been notably famous for the Curse of Oak Island and their constant involvement, but after six seasons of a lot of the same thing it would seem that some folks are wondering if they’re going to move on eventually or keep on with the same thing. There’s nothing to say that there is or isn’t a buried money pit on the island at this point, but if something was going to be found one would almost think it would have been by now. Despite all the difficulties and all the pitfalls that have come along it does kind of seem as though the show has been drawn out again and again to extend the ratings and see just how far along they can milk it. Perhaps it’s time to finally start in on something that that might be of a bit more interest at this point, or at the very least could be seen as something equally enticing to pull in new viewers. Of course it would have to be of a big enough interest to really get the brothers up and moving since a few of these seem like they’d be quite extensive mysteries to unravel without much hope of a reward.
Here are just a few mysteries that might be worth a season or two of search in the hope of closure, or continued discovery.
5. The location of Jimmy Hoffa’s body.
This has been a running joke for a long time now and there have even been a couple of instances in which an admission has been made to the death of the famed and extremely crooked union labor leader. It’s believed that Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran killed him, though this has been debunked with a few other theories, such as the idea that Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski and his admission of guilt. The search for Hoffa has been ongoing for a while now and while the theory that his body was cremated might be a dead end, there’s no telling if he really was crisped or if his body is still waiting to be found.
4. The location of the Ark of the Covenant.
Some folks might actually take issue with the search for the Ark since it’s considered to be a holy relic and in some cases more of an ideal than anything else. But given that it’s one of the more powerful and sacred artifacts of Christian religion it stands to reason that it might have been kept around rather than destroyed as it’s been rumored. But as to where it might have been hidden, that seems to be a mystery that might never be solved largely because those that believe so fervently in their religion might be willing to do or say anything to keep it hidden. This might not be the best idea, but it would be interesting.
3. The city of Atlantis.
Like many others Benjamin Radford of Live Science theorizes that Atlantis might be more myth than reality since it shows up only in stories and in no texts that can be found anywhere. But given the fallibility of history as it’s been seen more than once throughout the years, that leaves the door wide open for doubt. This would be a far more extensive search however and might be beyond even the aspirations of the Lagina brothers, though it would be interesting to see them take on this challenge and deduce whether or not the city actually existed or if it was just another fairy tale from the old world.
2. The location of Cleopatra’s tomb.
Owen Jarus of Live Science wrote that it had been surmised that the tomb had been found a while back but it was found that this wasn’t the case. This kind of a search seems like it would be just as fruitless as any, especially given how many tombs have been raided and plundered over the long years. But simply finding the place where Antony and Cleopatra were buried together would be the find of the century no doubt and would offer great prestige to anyone that manage to locate it. And despite the belief that it might have been found and desecrated, that seems to ring hollow since most people would be crowing loudly upon such a find.
1. The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.
Some people have clung to the legend of the Bermuda Triangle and how dangerous it can really be, while some have scoffed at it and said that there is something very easy to explain that is at work in this area. How the brothers would go about testing this is unknown, but it does seem as though it would be a great chance to either lay an old legend to rest, or validate it once and for all. If nothing else it would be great to see just who is in the right, the believers or the skeptics.
Whether or not they’d ever take on these mysteries has yet to be seen.
