Five Fictional Movie Characters You Could Argue Are Based on Donald Trump

Like him or not, and it’s very easy to do either, Donald Trump is a guy that seems to inspire various characters in fiction that have been seen to share a good number of his traits be they good or bad. It’s not worth the argument to really get into the number of faults or virtues the man has since that would take some time and no doubt create another divide among readers that isn’t needed, but the honest truth is that some characters have been modeled around various parts of Trump’s personality throughout the years and have been given some stunning visualizations that people have noticed and even appreciated since they’ve painted the current POTUS and business magnate in a rather comical light. Let it never be said that cinema or media is entirely fair, but in this case those that bothered to take the time molding characters after Trump in one way or another seem to have gotten something so spot on that it’s kind of eerie.

Here are just a few examples.

5. The Simpsons – Montgomery Burns

So yes Mr. Burns is bald on top and likely older than the dust that fills his bones, but his personality is kind of on par with Trump since he’s not always completely self-aware and things come spilling out of his mouth no matter if he means to say them or not. Pleasure, California ring a bell? Or maybe that’s too soon, but the point is that Trump tends to say things that a lot of people wonder at and can’t help but think that he should have thought twice about before saying them. This is one of the biggest correlations between Trump and Burns, though of course another is that they’re both insanely rich and love to flaunt it.

4. Titanic – Cal Hockley

To really see the correlation between Cal and Trump you have to search around and dig a little for any site that DOESN’T paint Cal as the antagonist in this movie. Sure he’s painted as misogynist and one of the most horrible people in the story, but then you have to think about the narration by Rose, since she’s telling the story. As with Trump you kind of have to see who’s narrating the story to really understand who the villain is and whether or not they were really that bad. Yes you might be rolling your eyes and thinking that Cal and Trump are really that bad, but in an effort to be fair let’s at least find an unbiased narration of both. It might be just as bad but at least it would be on the level.

3. Self/Less – Damian Hale

A lot of people have probably never even seen this film but the whole premise is that a man that has attained great wealth and social standing is dying and takes an offer to get a new lease on life by transferring his consciousness into another, younger body. In the process however Damien doesn’t realize that the host he’s slipping into is STILL THERE, in that body. Eventually it becomes an internal war to see who’s going to take control. A lot of people would probably be able to see Trump willing to try this if it really came down to it, and he might even say something along the lines that he’s got control, he’s got all the control, he knows all about control and can take control.

2. Wall Street – Gordon Gekko

When talking about corporate bigwigs you should have seen this one coming since both Gekko and Trump have been known to be absolutely ruthless in the past. The one big difference is that Gekko won’t apologize or try to put a positive spin on what he does when it comes to discussing it with others, he’ll simply let you know that he’s going to steamroll you and that you should have seen it coming. Trump does his best to present himself as a decent person that cares about everyone and everything even while he’s proving that the ‘caring’ only goes so far as the press conference where he makes such announcements, if it even goes that far.

1. Back to the Future II – Biff Tannen

This is possibly the funniest version of a Trump character since it’s a caricature unlike any other. Biff is the kind of guy that many would and do accuse Trump of being since he’s rude, obnoxious, spends money like it means absolutely nothing, and is all about his own gratification. There’s no redeeming quality to Biff that can possibly be seen and no matter which way you spin things he’s always able to come out as the villain. Many upon many people see Trump in this light and yet they forget the one simple thing that happens with every arrogant jerk that rises to such heights, people have allowed it to happen.

Laughing at the POTUS might not always be advisable, but laughing at the characters that resemble him is pretty easy.
