Three’s Company is a great show to review clips of just because. Why? Well because it was one of the best shows around in its time and even the reruns were fun to watch. Back in those days John Ritter was at his peak and despite the fact that the show switched out Chrissy’s despite the reaction of the fans, and the landlords as well, it was still one of the most enjoyable programs on TV. Nowadays some of the subject matter would probably be seen as suspect, but it was a different time and as a result we had a much different show to enjoy.
Half of the stuff they used to do would probably drive censors nuts even now with all the stuff that’s still allowed on TV.
5. The headache
There’s a big divide between those that liked Mr. Furley and those that liked Mr. Roper. Furley was great because, hey, it was Don Knotts and he was one of the funniest men alive. He could give a single look and people would start to crack up. But as Mr. Furley he was the kind of landlord that you couldn’t help but like and still never want to see that often since it usually meant something was wrong.
4. The cheer
You could always count on Chrissy to be bubbly and upbeat. And if she wasn’t all you had to do was give it a few minutes and she’d be right back to form. Suzanne Somers was, in many people’s minds, the ONLY Chrissy that mattered and the only one they wanted to see. She kind of exemplified the part since she had the look of a bubble-headed blonde that wasn’t too bright, despite the fact that in real life she’s quite intelligent.
3. The misunderstanding
Jack is kind of what you would call a horndog. Or he was at least, since in the show he was almost always in between girlfriends and at times got a little amorous towards his roommates. But back in those days guys got away with a lot more simply because it was the time period and no one had started a MeToo or TimesUp movement yet. But then there were those times when his more amorous nature led to big misunderstandings.
2. Jack meets Janet
It’s safe to say that onscreen the characters didn’t always get along since being roommates it was entirely believable that they would get on each other’s nerves after a while. But there always seemed to be a little something between Jack and Janet that was rarely if ever realized. It could have been that Jack and Janet were just more compatible since they were seen as two intelligent individuals, whereas Chrissy was nice and good-looking but kind of, well, stereotypically blonde.
1. Disco Roper
Roper wasn’t a bad character really since he could be funny. He was simply a little more dry in his delivery than Furley was and seemed to be a lot crabbier most times. But in his dealings with the trio of Jack, Janet, and Chrissy he tended get at least a little animated at times.
