The “trailer” is seamless enough but there’s one big problem, High School Musical 4 shouldn’t even be a consideration at this point. It might be fun to have a reunion movie somewhere later down the line but not right now. As of now most of the actors are still fully engaged in other projects and likely don’t have the time. Plus, if you really take a look at the trailer and the moments they’re showing you will see that this trailer is a patchwork of several different movies as fans seem to enjoy doing.
It’s not a bad thing really considering that it means fans are more than willing to post attempts at getting interest for a new movie, but it has fooled a lot of people into thinking that some of the movies coming out are just too good to be true. News flash. When things seem too good to be true, about 90 percent of the time they are. In terms of trailers it’s a safe bet that unless you don’t see Fan Made on the title then it’s bound to be somebody’s hopes and wishes that a movie such as this comes out.
One good example was the uproar that gripped a lot of people when the rumor that the Thundercats would be coming out and that there was a trailer. Once you watched it you could see that it was the movie Troy with a lot of color effects added in. Brad Pitt as Lion O is not a flattering look. Anyway, that’s the wonder of fan made trailers, they can get people all excited and then drop them like a stone when those same viewers realize that what they’re looking at is fake.
So far as the High School Musical films go it could be interesting to see a reunion movie. After all American Pie did it and despite low box office reviews it was pretty funny. Whether anyone would go watch it is another matter. Hardcore fans would likely take it seriously and attend, but a lot of people would probably look at it funny and ask “why?”. As in, why would they bother making another one? Why would they ruin a franchise that was already taken to its peak? Why bury something that was such a success?
Because that’s Hollywood. The fan that made this might want another High School Musical and that’s great for them. In fact it’s great that they did the video, it shows that they have at least a decent amount of skill with editing. But as far as getting anyone’s attention it might better if they simply write a letter to anyone that’s interested, or better yet write a script and send it in. Otherwise the chances are that this will only get laughed at or dissected by people that know every single movie that was used. It’s not meant to be mean, but it’s very true.
Fan made trailers are very amusing sometimes, even if they’re serious calls for movies that people want to see get made.
