Famous Doctor Who Term is Added to the Oxford Dictionary

Fan of Doctor Who or “Whovians” are going to be plenty excited out the news coming out of the show.   And it has absolutely nothing to do with the plot.   It has nothing to do with trailers or teasers or expected exits from the show.  It has to do with the Oxford Dictionary. According to Mashable

The Oxford English Dictionary is adding one of the most important wibbly wobbly, timey wimey terms from Doctor Who as an official word. Yes, it’s true–come June 2017, the dictionary will define the famous extension of The Doctor himself, his go-to tool: the sonic screwdriver.

If you have trouble reading the definition above here you go:  “a (hand-held) electronic device which uses sound waves to perform various mechanical and technical functions. Originally and chiefly in (or in reference to) the British television series Doctor Who.”

I guess the sonic screwdriver is no joke.  First it was referenced in a Wikileaks data dump not to long ago and now the darned thing is in the dictionary?  I can’t decide which show is going to have a bigger influence on society:  Doctor Who or Rick and Morty.   I’m pretty sure they’re both on a path to take over all pop culture right now.
