The cat is finally out of the bag, and it turns out that Stewie is… American? Well, that’s not much of a surprise, considering he’s Lois and Peter’s son. However, his English accent has left fans puzzled since the very beginning of Family Guy. With the show’s intentional continuity issues, it’s always been challenging to decipher the truth behind Stewie’s various quirks. So, it appears that he has a typical New England accent, but he maintains the British accent to confuse people and maintain a certain distance. Frankly, I don’t think Stewie would need an accent to keep people at bay.

From the show’s inception, Stewie has been one of the most sinister characters in the cast, terrorizing his family members with his evil schemes. Sure, he’s had his fair share of heartwarming and hilarious moments, but let’s be honest, he’s always had something sinister hidden up his yellow sleeves, targeting someone in the Griffin family. His English accent only adds to his Bond-villain persona, giving him that sophisticated mad scientist or eccentric madman vibe that’s quite unsettling when you think about it. Stewie seems to be a child born with a penchant for evil, but when he’s called out as a baby, things tend to go awry, and he reverts to his biological roots – whining, crying, and acting like a typical child.
Stewie’s Popularity: The Most Raw Character on the Show
Despite his malevolent nature, Stewie has been one of the most popular characters on Family Guy for years, perhaps even the most popular in some cases. He’s the most raw character on the show, both in terms of his actions and his words. There’s no denying that Stewie is downright mean and, in some instances, extremely nasty. His dastardly plans often fail either because he’s a child who can’t follow through on certain things or because he realizes the potential consequences before making his move. However, he’s also managed to keep his fair share of secrets hidden from his family, such as the secret bunker concealed in his wall, which was only revealed in the episodes where he supposedly killed Lois and then became president of the United States. Of course, that turned out to be just a simulation to see how things would play out, and they didn’t go too well.
Would Family Guy Be the Same Without Stewie’s English Accent?
It’s hard to say if Family Guy would have been as successful if Stewie had been given his real accent from the start. However, the English accent undoubtedly pushed him over the edge and solidified Stewie as the show’s primary antagonist. At this point, what else could he be? He’s the bad seed who reverts to acting like a baby when necessary. The accent adds an extra layer of intrigue to an already complex character, making Stewie Griffin one of the most memorable and diabolical characters in the history of animated television.
