Fall Premieres: Thursday, September 10

ScreenHunter_01 Sep. 10 00.23The CW continues its first week of fall premieres tonight with the series premiere of The Vampire Diaries and the season 5 premiere of Supernatural, showcasing The CW’s supernatural (no pun intended) Thursday night lineup!

First up is The Vampire Diaries, which probably fits somewhere smack in between Twilight and True Blood. Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith which, at it’s heart, is a story about two vampire brothers, one good, one evil, both fighting for the soul of a woman named Elena who reminds them both of someone from their past. But through it all not only Elena’s soul is at stake, but also the souls of her friends, family, and all of the residents of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

Below are a few links to preview and review articles we’ve written over the past few weeks to get you ready for tonight’s episode.

Next up is the return of the Winchester brothers from Supernatural in this fifth season premiere. Last season ended with Lucifer’s escape from Hell, and this season promises to be as fulfilling as ever, with Mark Pellegrino (who played the mythologically heavy Jacob on Lost last season) will be taking on the role of Lucifer. With guest stars such as Paris Hilton lined up (I know, but just trust Kripke, okay) on what could end up being the final season of one of the CW’s flagship series, everything is at stake and anything could happen.
