This episode of Dominion is only two plots for me which is good. I don’t like shows that seventeen different plots that you have to manage and then connect to the next episode. The first plot investigates Michael and his past. I couldn’t have cared less. You might have maybe talked about what he did in the past. The writers didn’t need to focus on it. He could have given Alex the book and had the questions ready. I thought Gabriel possessing higher angels and bringing up Noah’s Ark was a nice touch. There was no need to films to film those extra scenes of Michael that just wasted time. I did, though, think that it was cool on Alex’s part to finally get an eviction that worked, I think. I know that Gabriel went back to his body but I’m not quite sure what happened to the angel’s body he was possessing.
The second plot showed Whele and possibly succumbing to Gabriel’s will. Now this I was fascinated by. He had just had Gabriel’s worshippers killed in the last episode and now David wants him to be one? I did think what was interesting in the lion’s den was how Whele’s proclaimed he would bow down to no man and no angel. I get that. He only submit to power. What I don’t think either Whele or David understood was when they said their mother would be ashamed, one was talking about the other. However, at the end of the episode, the lion was dead and Whele was a broken shell of a man, right where David wants him to be.
I can tell you this. While we saw Claire for just one scene, she made it count. Claire, after all the dealings last week, has decided to push up the marriage to next week. Alex was talking about it later on so I was sure we were going to see her again but I guess not. I guess Alex bringing her eight-ball mother was not good for their relationship at all.
After this episode, I think I have a feeling what the season what might about and where it might be going. In the beginning, it was all about Alex discovering and exploring his new found powers as the Chosen One. Now, it seems to be that a good season finale would be to either have the wedding and all that entails with the Senate, etc. or having Alex fight one big bad on Gabriel’s side. The only either problem I can see with the former is that they haven’t really developed any one for on Gabriel’s team so he can’t fight. So hopefully we can say congrats to the not-so happy couple?
