The Doctor Who TARDIS Console Motion Light You Always Needed

So on the outside is just a plain old blue police call box. Nothing too fascinating right? One might walk by it without giving it a second thought. But maybe if you took a peek inside you’d find something akin to this wondrous device that so many fans have gone gaga over throughout the many years that Dr. Who has been a part of their lives. The one thing that never changes from one redesign to the next is the Tardis, the most important part of the device that allows Dr. Who to travel between space and time in an instant. You don’t have to know anything about the laws of space and time to operate this lamp, and its shape and design should satisfy any fan of the show that wants to own a replica of their favorite program.

There are some things you might want to know about this device however that are rather important.

You need a little patience.

Turning it on will not immediately start the effect that you desire. The waxen blobs will need to heat up a bit in order to really get going. Once that happens it’s important that you don’t touch the glass while it’s in operation or for a short while after it’s turned off. The glass and the base do tend to get very hot so it’s wise to give this Tardis a safe distance and admire it from afar.

Take care with it.

Don’t shake it or you’ll emulsify the wax inside. That will render the lamp somewhat useless for its purpose and you’ll be left with a glowing Tardis that’s really just an overgrown night lite. While it would still look fairly impressive it would lose its desire very quickly and become just another collector’s piece on your shelf.

You can’t leave it on for an extended period of time.

It’s recommended to not leave the Tardis lamp on for more than 10 hours. After this time the heat of the device will become too intense and you might run the risk of burning it out or causing additional damage if the lamp ruptures. If this does happen it’s important to clean up the spill with rubber gloves and whatever cleaning agent is recommended for such a spill. Remember to glove up and don’t let the liquid touch your skin. If such a thing does happen read the instructions carefully and clean the substance off in the instructed manner.

This device is recommended for those sixteen years of age and up but quite honestly it bears stating that the lamp, while impressive, is a bit dangerous for anyone with kids and should be kept up out of reach. It’s an awesome piece to keep in your home and can truly let your nerd flag fly as you enjoy the look of the actual Tardis model in your living room, office, or even your bedroom. Just remember to follow the safety instructions and you should be able to enjoy this device for hours and hours.
