Days of Our Lives fans know a thing or two about romance, and we know that there are some people who are good at it. And, there are some who are not. The world of Salem is as good as it gets in terms of romantic issues and couples that work, don’t work, or should work, but we also know that there are so many people who could do better. The year is 2019, and it’s already more than half over, and that leaves us wondering if there is anything we can do to make sure we have what it takes to see some of these couples make it through the rest of the year. We don’t. But, we do think we can tell you which current couples will not last much longer. If they don’t break it off soon, they will break it off before the year is up.
Gabi and Stefan
They aren’t going to make it much longer at all, if we had to guess. They don’t even like on another. In fact, we suspect she is only using him in the moment to get what she wants, and she’s not going to go forward with anything other than that. She’s a woman who has a lot of revenge in her heart, and we know that is rarely a good thing. However, she also has a lot of problems in her mind that she cannot get control of, either. She’s in her own world, doing her own thing, and she’s enjoying the intimate moments of this one. However, neither of these two even like the other. They just like their time in bed together. That’s not enough for them to start a full-fledged relationship, so we have to wonder if they can make it much longer like this.
Eli and Lani
These two have a complicated history, and we don’t see this working for them. They were together for a night when she was actually with another man, but she ended up pregnant. She lied about it, he found out, they both lied about it, and then the truth came out. It was hurtful and ugly for JJ to know that he thought he was going to become a father with the woman he loved only to find out in the midst of a very public trial that this was not the case at all. He was never meant to become a father because the baby was not his, and his beloved girlfriend slept with another man and got pregnant. Then she and Eli lost the baby that he was so willing to give up to JJ so that he could keep the peace between them. That was not pretty, either. They have a lot of drama between them, and it’s never good news. They are trying, but we cannot see this working long term for either of them. They might have some good times before the year is over, but we suspect it will not last much longer than that.
Eve and Jack
We know this will never work. This is a marriage that is doomed to fail time and time again. He is not a man who would ever choose to be with a woman like her if he was aware of what was going on in his life, but he doesn’t know better because of his situation. He might not be dead like they all thought he was, but he is not alive as well as he was in the past. He doesn’t have his memories, and that makes life a little awkward and unfriendly. For now, though, there is little they can do to make this seem right. They have so many things that they could get right, and if he can get his memories back and change the way things are going, he will divorce her and fall back in love with his wife. She was there for him before he died, and she’s been there for him since he came back. Even when he wasn’t himself and nothing was good in his life. We get it, we love it, and we want to see that work out for them in some way.
