Days of Our Lives fans maintain utter shock that so many people are confused by the fact that Will doesn’t recognize them. They might not understand the severity of what he’s been through, but they also seem to not understand anything that happened as a whole. They don’t seem to get that this is a man who has been at the mercy of a dirty doctor since his alleged death. He’s been experimented on, medicated, and who knows what else.
There is no chance he will be his rightful self at the end of this situation, but that has nothing to do with anything else. There is nothing we can do at this point but sit back and wonder why everyone thought Will would see them, hug them all, and thank them for finally rescuing him from a horrible doctor just in time for dinner and drinks.
Of course no one wanted to see him like this, but there is nothing anyone can do at this point. There is nothing but the future ahead, and they should all become familiar with the entire situation ahead of them. For example, he might never remember everything or everyone, or ever be himself again. Even if he can remember people, he might not be himself. What he’s gone through is enough to take a lasting toll on him and the way he lives. It’s traumatic, and everyone would do well to remember that this is the case for a man like this.
