10 Things You Didn’t Know about Christy Carlson Romano

Hands up, how many people thought of Ray Romano when you first saw Christy Carlson Romano’s name? The two are not related just to be clear and if you find yourself disappointed then upon reading her bio you should be amazed instead at everything this woman has done in her career to date since she’s been a very busy person indeed. Romano has been around show business for a long time, since she was a child in fact, and has been thriving ever since. Her credits are numerous enough that it’s no wonder why she’s able to be counted among those that should be well-known and well-respected since she’s achieved a great deal and has put together a career that one could easily be proud of. If you don’t know her that well it’s not that big a deal but she’s definitely someone that people should check out and get to know through reading about what she’s done.

Here are a few things you might not have known about.

10. She was the youngest actress to play Belle in the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast.

Given that a person would have to be pretty young to make this claim with such a role that’s something that you can be proud of since it means that her acting was spot on at a young age and has remained so ever since. That alone is something worthy of walking a little taller for.

9. She was a political science major in college.

It seems that her life could have gone a little differently if she’d pursued this instead of a life on stage and in TV and films. Perhaps it’s a good thing she still has that education but it’s even better that she went the other way.

8. She took dance classes when she was younger.

You could say she’s been kind of the talented busybody for a while since she’s been picking up skills since she was a young girl. It’s almost as though she needed to expend her energy and learn a useful skill at the same time. Nothing wrong with that.

7. She’s also a director.

So far there haven’t been a lot of limits to what she’s decided to achieve and what she’s decided to do. She even has her own production company that has been pushing full steam ahead and has been doing pretty good in the process.

6. She plays the guitar.

Ever tried to just sit there and strum a guitar? It’s not too hard to make the strings make noise but to get really good at it you really have to put in the time and effort to training your fingers how to work and how to rest when it’s needed. So kudos to her.

5. She graduated with a BFA in Film Studies.

Just in case you didn’t know what it was, a BFA is a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, meaning that it’s something that’s considered quite valuable and helped to speed her on her way to becoming an actor and later on a director.

4. She made her feature film debut in a Woody Allen film.

She had a small part in this movie but it was what helped to kick off her career and get her going. There are worse ways to get one’s career into gear and this was actually a pretty good way to do considering all the actors that helped to make this movie.

3. She was the voice of Kim Possible.

Kim Possible is one of the most endearing characters that Disney has and there have been rumors for a while about a live action movie coming, and there’s also a rumor that Romano will be included in the cast.

2. She was the voice of Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

This was kind of a small role in a very underrated and underappreciated movie about one of the greatest chapters in the Final Fantasy franchise, but it’s enough that she got to lend her voice to it since Yuffie has always been of the more carefree characters and one that people tend to love when they play the game. For those that aren’t into part 7 she’s basically an early version of Rikku from part 10.

1. She starred in the Broadway version of Annie.

Christy has done a lot in her career at this point and Annie was in her earlier years but was still one of her greatest roles since the play has been just as well-received as the movie in many ways. It’s one of those productions that can make or break a person and it’s obviously helped her out a lot.

So if you still don’t know enough about her by now there’s plenty to look for and peruse if you really want a better idea of who she is and what she’s done.
