Days of Our Lives fans were more than a little happy when Will showed back up this year. He’s been missed for a while and fans were thrilled. His return meant that there would be more than a little shakeup with some of the major characters, including Sonny and Paul. Now that he’s back, we all want to know a little more about the man who plays Will. That would be Chandler Massey, the man behind the character.
He’s A 90s Baby
Chandler Massey is a 90s baby. He missed the 80s by a year, but all he really missed at that point was an official title as 80s baby. He was born on September 10, 1990, which makes him 27. He’ll celebrate his 28th birthday in a few weeks, and in two years he will say goodbye to his 20s.
He’s An Emmy Winner
Chandler Massey has won some serious Emmys for his role as Will. He won three times in a row for the same category for the same character. He was nominated and won in 2012, 2013, and 2014 despite leaving his role at the end of 2013. He was good at what he did, and it shows when he is on the screen.
He Made History
Those three Emmy wins he won? He is the first ever actor to win an Emmy for playing a gay character. He’s not mad about that, and it shows that the time has changed a lot since many people began acting and these awards were given out. He’s good at what he does, and the fact that he was nominated for the same Emmy the year he came back states that beyond belief.
He’s Southern
Massey is a southern gentleman. He was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, which means he might just have an accent in real life. we aren’t sure, but it’s entirely possible he does since so many people do who were born in that area. He knows that sweet tea is life, and that the summer nights are the best nights, and that humidity is a real problem no matter what you do.
His Father is A Politician
Not only is he famous, his own father is also famous. He’s not famous for the same thing as his son, but Lewis A. Massey was once the Secretary of State for the State of Georgia, which means Massey has always had the public looking in on him. He’s been a role model his entire life thanks to his father’s job and now his, and he’s handled it quite well.
He’s the Oldest of Three Kids
Massey is not an only child, but his is the first child in his house. He’s the oldest of three, and he has two younger siblings. They are Cameryn and Christian, and we don’t know if they also took up their brother’s acting gene for themselves.
He’s Always Acted
When he was in high school, which he graduated in 2009, he was always involved in acting. He enjoyed the roles he played, and he spent a great deal of time on the stage at his high school. We bet no one was surprised when he took on the role of being an actor later in his life.
He’s An Athlete
Before he became Will, he was a frisbee player in college. He went to UCLA, and he played for the frisbee team. We didn’t know there was a frisbee team in college, so this is new information to us. However, there is a team like this in colleges across the country, and he was on it.
He Guest Stars
He was on shows such as Army Wives and One Tree Hill at times, and he loved it. He’s always been good at what he does, and being in shows like this is a dream come true for an actor. He might have small roles on those shows, but he does them well.
He Left His Role To Go Back to School
When he left his role playing Will back in 2013 before his return in 2017, it was so that he could play college student. Not in a movie or a show, though. He wanted to finish his education, and he needed to time to do it.
