You might not know or recognize Carrie Ann Inaba from anyone else but she’s lived a rather remarkable life, especially given that she does seem to have a healthy list of conditions that she suffers from at this point in her life and has dealt with for years. That hasn’t stopped her though from pushing forward and blazing her own path through the entertainment industry as she’s become a dancer, an actress, and has shown up in a great many places that might not have been accessible to her had she not taken a chance so long ago. Dancing has been one of the things that has really pushed her career and made her into something special, but she’s unveiled couple of other talents throughout the years to keep herself relevant and in doing so has made herself a little more valuable to those around her.
Here are a few things about Carrie you might not have known.
10. She released three records as a teen pop star.
It might be that those in the US don’t know much about this but to be honest such a thing is still a big accomplishment since it means that she did something that she poured her heart and soul into and hopefully saw do something for her. It’s hard to say since she’s obviously not topping the charts here if anyone even knows about her music, but it’s still something to be proud of.
9. Carrie’s had bad vision since she was young.
This has been ongoing since she was in the 5th grade and at this point it would seem that Carrie’s vision is to the point where her vision is greatly impaired, though she keeps pushing forward and doesn’t seem to let it slow her down.
8. She graduated from UCLA.
Carrie is an educated woman and has a great background to work from. A good education isn’t really prized by a lot of people that seek to make their way into the entertainment industry at times, but it’s definitely something that’s great to fall back on if they ever happen to need it, and it is an in to a lot of different fields if it’s ever needed.
7. She’s suffered from arthritis for quite a while.
At this point it seems that she might have more than enough ailments for one person to endure, but she’s been dealing with arthritis for quite a while in her life. While there are a lot of things that can be done for this condition it can only be held off for so long.
6. Her net worth is around $9 million.
For all she’s done this number is a pretty healthy indication that she’s done a lot of things right in her life since one doesn’t accumulate that kind of worth by sitting around idly and doing nothing. You could say that she’s made a few good choices in her life according to her financial standing.
5. She suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The difference between CFS and just being really tired it would seem is that CFS comes with what feels like flu symptoms and can go without being diagnosed for years on end. She’s had to deal with it and has done her best to make sure it doesn’t adversely affect her relationships.
4. Her following on social media is pretty substantial.
She does seem pretty active on social media. It seems as though she might be trying to keep her followers happy and perhaps just trying to stay relevant at times since it does seem as though she’s one of those that might need to really work at keeping her celebrity status moving upward or at least on a neutral plateau.
3. She was one of the original Fly Girls on In Living Color.
If you can think back this far she was one of the original ladies that were seen on the stage strutting their stuff and adding a bit of flair to the show up until the small troupe was switched up and Jennifer Lopez became the big attraction.
2. Carrie appeared in the last Austin Powers movie.
If you’re having a hard time placing her at the moment don’t worry too much about it since she was kind of a there and gone kind of character but she was still fun enough that a lot of people remember her. She played the part of the Japanese twin Fook U that helped to get Austin so hot and bothered and provided the material for one of the best jokes in the entire movie.
1. She’s been a judge on Dancing With The Stars.
Seeing as how she’s been a dancer and a choreographer you can see how her opinion would be valued on a show like DWTS. Even if her vision isn’t that great it seems she knows just what she’s doing when it comes to judging a dance competition.
There’s no doubt she’s got a lot going on, but she’s pushed through.
