It’s uncertain as of yet who’s going to be hosting the roast of Bruce Willis that’s set to occur this summer on Comedy Central, but whoever it is you can guess at least that this is going to get brutal. If past roasts are any indication this one is going to be just as rough as the celebrities coming out will be able to say anything that comes to mind and just annihilate poor Bruce as he sits upon his throne and listens. The roasts on Comedy Central are absolutely insane to watch and to listen to since there is absolutely no filter and no way of telling just what’s going to be coming out of peoples’ mouths.
If you’re wondering if people have gotten up and left during the roasts, yes, the answer is yes. However it’s not really known if the roastee’s have ever been known to get up and walk out. There have certainly been some heated moments and scowls leveled at those telling the jokes however. But the trick of a roast is that you have to know how to laugh, especially at yourself. And another thing is that the insults are going to be omni-directional, meaning they’ll be flying every which way. The spew won’t just be headed towards the roastee, oh no, this is a free for all in which every personality will be seeking to level each other with their sharp wit and supposedly mean, distracting sense of humor. But if there’s one thing that Bruce Willis can do when he’s onstage it’s take a lot of punishment. He’s taken on terrorists, blown up an asteroid, and even survived a movie with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn at the same time, so he’s got this. If there’s anything he’s going to have trouble with it might be that the comics just won’t know how to come at him.
Or not. He’s amassed enough controversy and laughable moments in his life that even the weakest comedian could possibly take a jab at him. It’s just a matter of who Comedy Central is going to use to light the fires and roast away. There are going to be bonafide comedians to be certain, but there might also be a couple of individuals that know Bruce particularly well since that seems to be how things go and how to get the best reaction. Now if they put someone like Justin Bieber or Kevin Smith on the panel it wouldn’t be surprising but it would also be comical since it seems like Bruce would just shrug them off and ask for more. Adding men like Sylvester Stallone, Dwayne Johnson, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger to the list might make things a little harder to understand at times, but it would still be acceptable since let’s face it, no one talks trash like the Rock.
The roast of Bruce Willis is going to be something fun to watch it would seem like since there’s such a deep pool of talent to pick from that have worked with this man. Maybe they’ll even get Samuel L. Jackson to do the honors. Now that would be awesome.
