The actress was born Andrea Lynn Evans in Aurora, Illinois, on June 18, 1957. Evans spent all her growing years in Illinois, including attending the University of Illinois. As a child with an interest in pageantry, her mother enrolled her in beauty pageants. For most of her growing years, Evans participated in several of these local pageantries as well as appeared in print and TV commercials. With the level of exposure she received, Evans developed a passion for the performing arts. Unsurprisingly, she later joined and participated in regional theater. For today’s generation, she was famous for playing Tawny Moore on The Bold and the Beautiful. The character first appeared in the soap opera on March 29, 1999, and quickly rose to become one of the most manipulative characters on the show. Tawny Moore was the single mother of twins Amber Moore and April Knight. 

Seeking to go after the Forrester’s fortune, Tawny orchestrated the plan to have her daughter, Amber, seduce them 17-year-old Rick Forrester. At the time, Amber was babysitting Rick and his sister, Bridget Forrester. Throughout her appearance in the show, Tawny Moore’s storyline saw her scheming to marry her daughter into wealth. Andrea Evans Was Also Sensational In Other Soap Operas

In the same year she made her screen debut, renowned casting director Mary Jo Slater helped Andrea Evans land a role on One Life to Live. Evans played Tina Lord in the ABC soap opera, with her first appearance on July 2, 1978. Evans originated the role, introducing the character as the 16-year-old goddaughter of longsuffering heroine Victoria Lord (Erika Slezak). At the time, Andrea Evans was 21 years old. Victoria Lord adopts Tina as her ward after the presumed death of her biological mother, Irene Manning Clayton (Kate McKeown). Evans played the role from 1978 to 1981. She returned in 1985 for her second stint, portraying the character until her exit in 1990. 

Andrea Evans abruptly quit after a stalker broke into the ABC studio with the intent to kill her, having known her filming schedule. Her third and last stint on One Life to Live was in 2008. She played the character until 2011. Andrea Evans also played Patty Williams after being recast to replace Lilibet Stern in The Young and the Restless. She played the character for 15 months, from July 1983 to October 1984. Between her time on The Bold and the Beautiful, she joined the NBC soap opera Passions cast as Rebecca Hotchkiss. Evans played the character from 2000 to 2008. Her last acting project was in the comedy-crime web series The Bay. She was cast as Patty Walker from 2017 to 2020.

Andrea Evans was married twice, first in 1981 and first in 1998. Evans dated and married Wayne Massey, her One Life to Live co-star. On the show, Massey played Johnny Drummond, a love interest of Evans’ character, Tina Lord. The couple married on February 14, 1981, and finalized their divorce on March 1, 1984. The marriage did not produce any child. Evans’ next marriage occurred 14 years later with attorney Stephen Rodriguez. The couple married on January 10, 1998, and adopted their only child, Kylie Lyn Rodriguez, in 2004. Evans and Rodriguez were still married at the time of her death.

Andrea Evans died at her Pasadena, California, home on July 9, 2023, from breast cancer. The actress had battled the disease for several years before succumbing. Although she had an undeniable passion for acting, breast cancer was a major reason the actress retired.
