There are a number of debates going on right now as to whether or now Big Little Lies should have a second season. Fans absolutely loved the show so some are of the opinion “don’t ruin it, just leave it as a one season masterpiece” while others are clearly thirsting for more. I’m going to leave that debate up to the critics, the fans, and the big wigs at HBO. But one thing that’s a consensus among everyone is that the show was a hit for HBO.
One of the things people love about Big Little Lies is the theme song. However, is it possible it drew inspiration from a very unlikely source? It turns out that some of the riffs of the song are similar in melody to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” sung by Frank Sinatra. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking copying here. But if you listen closely you can hear it. In particular watch out for the parts of the song where Sinatra says, “Here we are as in olden days, Happy golden days of yore.”
