Comic Con’s are all the rage these days and for good reason, they’re a lot of fun. Where else can you dress up as your favorite fantasy character, outside of a Halloween party, and not draw some curious stares? Even if people do look a good number of them are doing so because they’re either 1) impressed, 2) curious, or 3) interested in how you put your costume together. There are rarely any individuals that go to Comic Cons actively looking to laugh at the self-professed nerds and geeks that worship the TV shows and movies that help to create this event.
The days of the jocks vs. the nerds is just about over really, since a lot of people that identify as jocks are self-professed sci-fi or fantasy geeks as well. Even better, despite the fact that the most major Comic Con is in San Diego, there are Comic Cons all over the world where people gather to enjoy this spectacle. There’s even one in Manchester where the turnout was just what you would expect.
Here are a few pictures to show you just how fun this event can really be, and how much people tend to get into it.
Say hell to Negan, the early years. It’s very likely that Negan had to practice a bit to become so nasty. Why not get started when you’re young?
Did you really thing a Comic Con would go by without any zombies? That’s like expecting a Disney on Ice show to omit Mickey from the cast.
Hellboy lost a little weight it seems, and he’s acquired an affinity for bling on his trademark stone hand. He’s still rockin’ it though.
Loki looks like he’s up to no good as usual, hopefully a few versions of his brother are kicking around to keep him check.
Bane looks like he’s ready for round two with the Dark Knight. He’s sure to find a few representations milling around.
It definitely seems that people enjoy the Karl Urban look rather than the heavy, golden-shoulder pad look that Stallone favored when it comes to Judge Dredd.
Now this is awesome. How often do you really see Hawkgirl at any convention? You see just about everyone else but this is rare appearance.
Ever since Frozen came out little and big girls have been infatuated with Elsa and Anna. You don’t often see as many Anna’s but there have been a few.
Yes, yes, yes. Storm troopers are a must at any Comic Con, and the more authentic the costume the better. It seems like it’s kind of hard to move in all that gear but it’s worth it for the picture.
Gamorra and Nebula, the younger years. This is parenting done right in my book, getting them started young with something they could possibly love later on. And even if they don’t you’ve got some awesome pictures to put in the scrapbook.
So yeah, Comic Cons are very worth it to attend and to get into. It doesn’t take much anymore to find one that’s relatively close, and the experience is more than worth it.
