Ayda Field is an American-Turkish actress and TV presenter. She is married to the British singer Robbie Williams and the couple have three children. Here are ten things about her that you may not know.
1. She Was Born In Los Angeles
Her mother was an American film producer who lived in Los Angeles which is where Ayda was raised. Her father was Turkish and the name she was given at birth was Ayda Evecan. Her mother was named Gwen Field and it is her surname that Ayda has always used professionally. Living in Los Angeles meant that she was in the best place to begin her acting career.
2. She Attended Havard-Westlake School
This school is considered to be one of the best private schools in Los Angeles. At the time she was at the school it was attended by both girls and boys. This was a fairly recent change at the time as it was once two separate schools – boys would have attended Harvard and the girls attended Westlake. Ayda graduated from this school in 1997 and she is listed as one of the school’s notable alumni.
3. She Has Had A Difficult Relationship With Her Father In The Past
The Sun reports that her parents broke up when she was just four years old. Her father moved back to Turkey and the two didn’t speak until she was eighteen. They then reconciled briefly before becoming estranged again. However, she did make the step to contact him before her wedding so that he was able to give her away.
4. Her First Acting Role Was On Days Of Our Lives
She appeared in Days Of Our Lives for almost a year from late 2000 to the summer of 2001. She played the character of Angela Moroni, the daughter of mob boss Vincent Moroni. She was involved in the plot that saw Brandon Walker and Sami Brady trying to get back a tape where Roberto was forced to confess to a murder. Angela was in possession of the tape and she used this to blackmail Brandon into marrying her. The character of Angela was killed off in the show.
5. She Later Moved In To Comedy Roles
It was her work in comedy roles for which she is best known. She has a recurring role on Blue Collar TV which was a comedy sketch show that ran for two years. She also had guest roles in several comedy shows including Eve and Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. She also made her debut on UK TV in a comedy called Fresh Meat. Another role that she accepted while she was working in the UK was in the ITV drama Paranoid. This was the first role she had away from a comedy series for quite a while.
6. Her Most Recent Work Has Been As A Presenter
When she is in the UK she sometimes appears as a panelist on the daytime TV show Loose Women. She is probably best known in the UK for being a judge on the X Factor alongside her husband, Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction. It was reported that she and Robbie were paid as much as £10 million for starring in the series as Simon Cowell really wanted a husband and wife team on the judging panel. She mentored the Over 28s category in the show and her best performing act was Danny Tetley who came in sixth place overall. After the show was over Ayda and Robbie announced that they would not be returning for another series.
7. Her Daughter Was Bridesmaid At The Wedding Of Princess Eugenie
Robbie Williams has been a friend of Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brockbank for many years. Their daughter Theodora, who is usually referred to as Teddy by her parents, was asked to be a bridesmaid when the couple got married at Windsor Castle. This would have been a very proud moment for her parents as they watched her with the other bridesmaids that included Princess Charlotte. Teddy was six years old when she was a bridesmaid which means that she should have her own fond memories of the day.
8. The Family Split Their Time Between The UK And The US
Ayda and Robbie both have interests in their respective countries and so the family split their time across the two locations. They have three homes in total – one in London, one in Malibu and one in Los Angeles. They feel that not choosing one country over another is a good way for their children to learn more about where they come from. It also makes sense from a work point of view because it means that they can accept work in either country without having to worry about finding somewhere temporary to live.
9. She Is An Animal Lover
She regularly posts pictures of the family pets and Hello reported that they sadly lost their Jack Russell named Baby earlier on in the year. She posted a photo of Baby on Instagram and spoke about how much he would be missed by the whole family. The family also have two other pets, another dog called Poupette and a cat named Milo. It is not yet clear whether they will get another dog so soon after losing Baby. Although no other dog can replace him, the family may find that they miss having two dogs in the household.
10. She Is An Ambassador For Parkinson’s UK
When her mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease she decided that she wanted to do as much as she could to raise awareness of the disease. She also wanted to do more to help the families of people who have been diagnosed. This led to her being named as an ambassador for Parkinson’s UK. She first spoke about her mother’s diagnosis on Loose Women. It came at a time when everything else was going well in her life and this made it hard to deal with at times. However, the whole family is trying to remain positive.
