It’s rare for moviegoers to get a glimpse of what production must be like for any movie. It’s difficult to grasp the amount of work that goes into filming just to get a single frame as perfect as possible. This work is magnified when an action movie is getting filmed, and as moviegoers, we’re only left with our jaws wide open after seeing a well-put production that took months of hard work and a lot of skill. That’s exactly what happened when everyone saw Ant-Man back in 2015. Everyone can admit that expectations were a little bit low. It was Ant-Man, after all; it wasn’t Thor or Captain America or any of the other big names. Ant-Man was way, way down close to the bottom of that superhero list, but boy were we in for a treat after watching that movie.
Paul Rudd and the rest of the cast and crew did a phenomenal job with everything about that movie. The acting was great. With the likes of veterans Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Peña to bring life to the characters, the movie was always in good hands. In addition, the writing and storyline was also great. We didn’t see the typical comic book Ant-Man that was full of dark emotion and morbid guilt. Instead, we saw a light-hearted, comic version that no one other than Rudd could truly become. Finally, the action was just awesome. Who knew that such a small thing could carry an entire movie? Thanks to the success of that film, we can now look forward to a second installment of Ant-Man, and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s going to be just as good as the original, if not better.
Footage from the production of the sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, surfaced on the Internet recently, and fans are raving. The footage wasn’t anything particularly telling, but it did show some good action. It showed an SUV being flipped from one end of an intersection to what looked like a distance of about 40 feet, maybe way more. The SUV was obviously attached to a cable, something we won’t be seeing in the movie. The flip was impressive to say the least. We can only imagine tiny Ant-Man at the center of the intersection, flipping this vehicle that’s a million times its size, and making it look like cakewalk. The flip was clean. It was definitely a one-shot-to-perfection type of deal. One take was all it took, and now we’ve got a car-flipping sequence that we love so much yet know so little about.
Ant-Man and The Wasp is set for release on July 6, 2018. We can’t wait to see what Ant-Man does, but more specifically, we’re interested to see what The Wasp can really bring to the table. We trust in Lilly’s abilities in the genre and know that the same cast and crew will make magic happen again. We’re just dying to know and can’t wait to find out what crazy story is actually behind this car flip.
