We all call our pets many different adorable names. For this Inktober, I decided to make drawings of different ways that I call my cat. Before the challenge, I didn’t realize how many names I have for her!
My boyfriend and I adopted Roomba the day before the first wave of quarantine in March. We’d been visiting her for a month beforehand, and we’d noticed that nobody wanted to adopt her, which was strange, because she looked so cute. The rescue worker told us that she’d been waiting for adoption for about half a year. My boyfriend started to flirt with the idea of taking her, and just as lockdown was about to happen, we couldn’t resist. And I haven’t regretted a single moment with her. She’s nice and sweet, and very keen; she’s also very smart and likes little a salami.
I’m a graphic designer, but I like to draw and paint in my spare time, and I aspire to become a true artist someday, which is why I partake in Inktober every year. This year, I wanted to study my cat’s fur pattern and her shape, so I decided to focus on only her. If you like my works of Roombie, I suggest following her Instagram page and my own artwork page linked down below. Enjoy!

I drew this with my left hand since my right hand was still hurting after an operation, but it adds to the bum experience, don’t you think?

#13 Roomba
I believe she was named after Roomba, the vacuum robot, or the Rumba dance, or because she meows like “broom-meow, room-meow.” In either case, her name is lovely.
