Acts from all over the world continue to audition on tonight’s episode of America’s Got Talent. The acts are getting a bit better regarding quality, but there are still a few mediocre acts. Again, I applaud them for having the bravery to perform their act on the biggest stage in the world. Though I sincerely wish that they would think things through a bit more when deciding whether or not their talent is worth seeing.
The fifth batch of auditions kicked off with a young boy magician named Henry. It truly amazes me that so many young people are taking an interest in magic. Last year, a young boy performed magic alongside his little sister, and they got pretty far along in the competition. All the tricks that Henry did baffle me and I can’t wait to see what other tricks he has up his sleeves. Then again, other magicians are competing as well, so he better step up his game.
I was a bit shocked/intrigued that a husband would compete against his wife. Usually, it’s a team effort, but this time, it’s everyone for themselves. Both of their acts were great and borderline dangerous. My heart was racing a mile a minute as I watched them do their thing onstage. At least they won’t have to split the money if either one of them wins.
When Sara and her dog Hero came onto the stage, I thought that it was going to be one of those amateur animal acts. After watching them perform, I saw them in a new perspective. Maybe if Sara fine-tuned the act a little more, I could see this in Vegas. My eyes then went wide when Simon pulled a Mel B and stormed onstage begging the other judges to change their minds. Howie and Heidi both said yes, but Mel B was adamant about her refusal. Good thing an act only needs three yeses to move on or Sara would have to go home disappointed. Tyra was right, Sara now has two heroes in her life: her dog and Simon Cowell. I hope you’re right about this, Simon!
Last Thoughts:
Howie’s comment to Simon after sending Sara through amused me. It’s funny because it’s true. He said to Simon, “How can I refuse you?” to which Simon just smiled. Simon is the boss. You do not say no to the boss!
The dancing deputy sheriff made me roll my eyes. Not in a good way either. He’s got okay dance moves, but it’s not AGT level dancing. If he wants to pursue this, perhaps he should take lessons from Just Jerk or the other dance groups.
I also loved that Heidi was asked to be a part of an act. The CGI effects were well-done. The singing group Final Draft was pretty good as well.
The acrobatic trio (I can’t recall their names due to the accent)’s performance was okay. It reminds me of a segment that used to be on Whose Line Is It Anyway?.
