American Horror Story: Asylum Takes an “Ascent”/Descent into the Macabre – TVOvermind

The latest (fifth) American Horror Story: Asylum teaser, titled ‘Ascend’ warns us that, “Whatever You Do… Don’t. Look. Down.” But what would be the fun in that?
American Horror Story: Asylum is really bringing the creeps and freaks with these cryptic teasers and today, again, was no exception. Every morning/afternoon this week had been the equivalent of Christmas Day on the show’s official Facebook page as a new teaser is presented for the masses to unwrap an analyze on sight. Wonder how many more of these will Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and FX will release before we get a full official trailer? Does it even matter? In some respects, yes, but I (and the rest of TVO’s American Horror Story fans) will gladly have the crap scared out of me on a daily basis until then.
The nun motif returns as she is basically ascending some stairs while an asylum patient, or a Reagan MacNeil enthusiast, spider crawls down the reciprocal side of the stairs. The effect is jarring to the bone, but as far as a deep analysis for this one? Well, you take a look first and tell us what you think:

Again, there seems to be some sort of parallel to the nuns and the patients, or rather the nuns representing “good” and the patients representing “evil.” Either the nuns might think they’re agents of good, yet do unspeakable horrors to the patients in order to serve a greater good, or they could be a direct connection to the patients in that they are in some shape, way, or form the patients/prisoners themselves.
Your thoughts?
