Alessia Cara Does Perfect Lorde Impression on The Tonight Show

One of Jimmy Fallon’s most popular segments on the Tonight Show is the “Wheel of Musical Impressions.”   For those of you not familiar, “Wheel of Musical Impressions” is a game guests play where they spin an imaginary wheel and have to do an impression of a singer singing a particular song.  For example they might land on “Mick Jagger Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and they would have to do an impression of Mick Jagger singing the famous children’s song.

In my personal opinion the best ever guest on The Wheel was Ariana Grande.  When she sang like Britney Spears it was unbelievable.  However, Ariana has some competition in Alessia Cara.  The Canadian singer was charged with impersonating Kiwi songstress Lorde singing “Baa Baa Black Sheep” in the latest edition of “Wheel of Musical Impressions.” Not just trying to match the singer’s voice, Cara even added a specific hand gesture to completely channel Lorde.

Tonight Cara will be making her Saturday Night Live debut so last night was just a warm up. Alessia made waves last year with the Lin-Manuel Miranda penned track “How Far I’ll Go,” which was featured in the end credits of Moana.  Clearly her talents are just starting to get explored.  Check out her spot on impression below:
