As a seasoned film and TV show enthusiast, I couldn’t help but compare the live-action versions of Black Adam and Dark Phoenix. Many fans might argue that Black Adam should easily defeat Jean Grey, given the immense power he draws from the 7 gods. And considering he can take on Superman, it’s easy to see why people would think that. However, they’re overlooking the fact that Dark Phoenix isn’t Superman, and her abilities far surpass those of the Man of Steel.

Black Adam’s physical prowess is unmatched, but Dark Phoenix doesn’t need brute force.
It’s true that in a physical brawl, Black Adam would easily overpower Jean Grey. Even with the Phoenix Force, she’s not a physically imposing character. However, as Dark Phoenix, she doesn’t need to rely on her fists. Her mental powers are more than enough to send Black Adam flying. Jean Grey has consistently taken down opponents on Black Adam’s level, and as the avatar of one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel Universe, she’s not easily intimidated.
Dark Phoenix’s arsenal of mental attacks is too fast for Black Adam to handle.
While Black Adam is incredibly fast, he’s not faster than the speed of thought. The moment Dark Phoenix senses his intentions, she can counter his moves with ease. She has faced numerous beings that could easily defeat Black Adam and has done so effortlessly. All it takes is a single thought, and Dark Phoenix can show Black Adam the true extent of her power.

Black Adam’s only hope lies in Jean Grey’s moral compass.
Unlike Black Adam, Jean Grey is not inherently violent. She prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt and tries to change their minds rather than resorting to violence. This approach likely wouldn’t work on Black Adam. However, as Dark Phoenix, Jean is more willing to engage in combat, knowing full well the extent of her abilities. Morals would be cast aside in this battle, and it’s doubtful Black Adam would want to continue after experiencing the true power of Dark Phoenix.
Dark Phoenix can end the fight quickly with her matter manipulation abilities.
One of Dark Phoenix’s many abilities is matter manipulation, which Black Adam has no defense against. She has been shown in movies reducing living beings to dust with ease. No matter how fast Black Adam moves, if he can’t match the speed of thought, he’d be reduced to a pile of dust at Dark Phoenix’s whim.
