Fans are shocked Hayden Christensen’s daughter has not seen his work in Star Wars. It turns out Rachel Bilson’s little girl hasn’t seen her father in many of his movies yet, nor has she seen her mother in many of hers. Their daughter, Briar, just doesn’t understand the fame her parents have, and there does seem to be something sweet about that. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen’s daughter might not understand just how famous her mom and dad are, but she will. For now, though, the couple is co-parenting their daughter under the pretense that they are just regular people.
Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen Have Always Been Private
These two might be two of the most famous faces in Hollywood, but they also try to keep their lives as normal as possible. Bilson rose to fame quickly in the early 2000s when she starred as Summer Roberts in the hit teen drama “The OC” and began dating her famous co-star, Adam Brody. The two were together for three years until 2006. Ironically, he began dating and eventually married Bilson’s New York counterpart. After The OC hit it big and ended, Gossip Girl was the new ‘look at the wealthy kids living their lives show – the east coast version. Leighton Meester played the snotty rich girl who really turned into a good person and a great friend, Blair Waldorf. Blair is the Summer on the east coast. We just think that’s funny.
Back to the point at hand. When Bilson and Christensen began dating in 2007, they’d already starred in a movie together. They went out for nearly a year without telling anyone. They didn’t answer any questions. They didn’t confirm or deny the speculation. They kept to themselves, and they didn’t let anyone in. In fact, they did this for ten years. They had a baby, they made a life for themselves, and they ended their relationship without telling a soul.

Her name is Briar, and most people didn’t even know Bilson was pregnant. Their daughter, Briar, was born in October 2014. She is almost eight now, and she is living her best life with her parents, who don’t share with her how famous she is. Despite breaking up when their daughter was only three, the two do co-parent well together. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen’s daughter might not know how famous her parents are, but she knows that they put her first all the time – and it’s always been that way.
What Bilson Has to Say About Her Daughter
At her age, it might seem strange that she has not realized how famous her parents are, but kids just know what they know. They don’t really begin to understand if their life is different until they are a bit older, and that’s just a personal situation. If she’s out with her mom or her father and people call them by name or ask to take a photo, it’s entirely possible she thinks all people live like this. She probably thinks this is something that happens to every child’s parents. As for how famous they are and her daughter’s lack of knowledge, Rachel Bilson said, “I think she knows that her mom – and her dad’s an actor too – so she kind of knows that we are in that world. But she’s not aware of that level. She definitely doesn’t know how famous her dad is or the character he played was.” Of course, he played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars movies, and we know how big that is.
Why Doesn’t Rachel Bilson Let Hayden Christensen’s Daughter See Star Wars?
While many might want to think there is some drama here, there is not. Rachel Bilson has a very good reason for not allowing their daughter to see the Star Wars movies, and no one can argue with her reasoning. “I’d like to keep it that way. Thank God, because he kills children in the movies, so let’s keep that from her until she’s like 80,” said Bilson of her reason behind not allowing her daughter to see the Star Wars movies. While we don’t know what Christensen has to say about that, we imagine that he feels the same way.

No father wants his young daughter to see him in a role that portrays him as a murderer or a bad guy. He certainly wouldn’t want his daughter afraid to be near him or fearful of him, so he probably doesn’t want her to see his work right now, either. She will likely watch her father in this role long before she’s 80 – but she’s currently almost eight, and that’s just too young.
